That's the compatibility mode which fixes it's behaviour not it's look.
That's the only cursor-related fix that I've ever seen.

there is the compatible cursor thing. i haven't used it in forever though. i think if you right click on the game icon and open properties and put -compatiblecursor 1 at the end of the target it should work. although they did fix the issue for vista a while back.
Options -> Graphics -> Advanced Graphics Settings -> Mouse Cursors. Set it to Color.
It should be near the middle of those options, between VSynch and Shadow Mode.

Wow I fixed it.

and changing the settings did nothing to fix them.
But then I read on wiki that after an update compatiblecursors was loaded by default for all vista installs. I checked my shortcut and I had -compatiblecursors 1 there so on a hunch I changed it to 0 and bingo they were normal. I was putting up with them for 3 years dangit.
Sorry agge and everyone you were right (sorta).
_Klaw_, you should be able to totally remove the -compatiblecursors flag from the shortcut now...

No actually if I remove it I get the ugly cursor again I have to have it listed in the shortcut as 0. I guess I have a setting wrong or maybe I need to update vista.
The setting you have wrong is the setting I and Kheldarn stated earlier in the thread. Remove the flag from your shortcut, then change the setting in your options.
