Problem with Server RSS Feed
Quote:
So this is not exactly a CoH issue, but more of website thing.
I've been playing around with the desktop widgets on Windows 7, and I found one that lets me import RSS feeds. So I poked around for some RSS feeds to follow, and remembered that the CoH servers had an "uptime" feed. Except not really. It's not a valid RSS file, at least not according to a couple validators. There's a News feed, but it doesn't include any server uptime information. Anyone have a way to get this feed to work properly in a XML reader? |
You're right, it isn't a RSS feed at all. It's an XML document, that's all, one following their own layout.
Unless you took a few steps to convert it into an RSS feed somehow it's not going to be importable by any RSS Reader I'm afraid, other than the fact both are in XML they aren't remotely in the same format.
Instead of screwing around with trying to convert XML into RSS, you could just use Cox Server Monitor, which is a dedicated gadget that monitors that feed. I wrote the original version quite a while back, and then Fleeting Whisper took that piece of crap and improved it.

OK instead of creating a new thread I thought I'd just revive this one with a question:
Is there a RSS feed / XML file that includes the EU Server states?
