Hey guys,


Returning after a long hiatus from the game. I have a 50 SS/WP Brute. My question is this: I see a few different builds, but I don't see any that have S/L soft-capped. Why is that?

I would like some help with my build. This is what I have in-game right now. I want to be able to farm more efficiently, ie, I know I need more aoe's in the build through APP's. I know the build itself needs some work(Get rid of taunt). I would really like to see how you guys can change the build. I can farm fairly good as is, but it takes forever only having footstomp as an AOE. Please help

The reason behind the lack of S/L defense building (or defense building in general) is that many people still use the Liberate TV farm. On that farm, you're fighting Nemesis, and the Lieutenants will be using Vengeance. This provides a big bonus to their ToHit, thus cutting down your defense and making it (fairly) useless.

Another reason is that, for many people, the best form of Damage Mitigation is to do more damage because "if it's dead, it ain't hitting you!" So many choose to focus solely on +Recharge and, to a lesser extent +HP/Regen.

You touched upon most of the issues in your build, and it's not really that bad!

I kept the purples and uniques, but I don't know what your budget is like, and this build is sure to cost you some serious inf.

Now, you have to choose whether you want to take the Soul APP or Mu APP. I personally chose Soul, because I don't like that Elec. Fences negates Foot Stomp's damage mitigation. But most people swear by Mu, as it gives you two more AoE powers, so YMMV.

I've also seen some people pick up Aid Self for added survivability, but I've never had any issues on my SS/WP, so I would advise against that.

I'm curious as to why you would want to. Crushing Impact provides +5% Recharge while Kinetic Combat gives S/L defense and is pretty hard to get a hold of. If you're not going for S/L defense, I wouldn't use them, they're not worth the hefty price tag!

I agree with Alpha,

CI gives some recharge which makes it more desirable than most other options against nemesis. Kin Combat cost a mint, give you lower modifiers to damage/acc/rchg because they're 35th, and the S/L defense won't help a lick against veng popping enemies.

I've considered some other options but I still have mostly CI in my main farming build on my SS/WP

Took your build Alpha, changed a few things around(Took Strength of Will and did not take Summon Striker) And I love it. I kill much faster now! I just need to save up to buy the Rag set for Ball Lightning(Put Positron in there as a place-holder for now) and I think I'll be completely set.
