Anyone know the fix to this? New computer, tried booting up CoH to 1920x1080 and it gives me the error:

"Resolution 1920 x 1080 not supported in fullscreen mode. Defaulting to 1024 x 768

Windows 7 64bit
GTX 260 with newest drivers

In time, I'll come to forgive you.

In Menu -> Options -> Graphics and Audio -> set the resolution to 1920 x 1080 (Desktop) (or there abouts) click Okay, then exit and restart CoX and see if that works any better. If that fails, please post a CoH Helper log.

Yeah that is what I tried, and I am at work now, but will post when I return home.

Also, make and model of your screen.

Clicking on the linked image above will take you off the City of Heroes site. However, the guides will be linked back here.

Just a FYI these settings worked when I had XP installed.

Also, go to the install folder and find the CoHHelper.exe and the CityofHeroes.exe (the launcher/updater and the actual main executable...I might not have the file names 100% correct there, I'm going from memory at the moment)

Then go to the properties of each executable and mark them both to "Run as Administrator" and "Disable Windows Composition"

The "Disable Windows Composition" turns off the Aero Themes stuff while the app is running. It might not help in your situation, but it solved a couple of display problems I was having under Win 7-64 bit.

Finally got it to work guys, thank you for the help.

Turns out W7 was detecting my monitor as a generic non PnP monitor because I was using a DVI to VGA adapter(monitor only has HDMI and VGA input). So once I used the DVI to HDMI adapter W7 was able to recognize the monitor and display the correct resolution.
