I have a new Gaming laptop coming in as my last one is slowing dying (can't complain the thing is 4 years old and went to Iraq with me). The new system is

Processor Intel® Core™ i7-620M 2.66GHz (3.33Ghz Turbo Mode, 4M cache)
Memory 6GB Memory (1x 2GB, 1x 4GB DDR3)
Video Card 1GB NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 260M GTX260 [320-0938]
Hard Drive 250GB SATAII 7,200RPM

It is also running Windows 7 Premium. I wanted a heads up if there is anything I need to install, or watch out for with this build.

TLR
Got new Laptop on the way and looking for any problems with the build.

short version:

Bad News: the only thing you need to be aware of is that just about every single Mobile Nvidia chipset has been through a product recall due to a tendency for laptops to physically explode. The latest recall was just last week.

Good News: As of yet, none of the recalled products have included the GTX 260m, 280m, or 285m.

Other than that, make sure you keep the air vents cleaned out and you should be fine.

That's... good to know, a little disturbing lol.
I do keep a rather clean machine... I found that the air clean technique can be much improved with a little innovation. They sale an airbrush kit for miniatures from games workshop. I thought, heck why not, and bought a clean gun to use to clean my computer, dust my miniatures and other little jobs where a burst of well aimed air can do the trick...
Thanks for the heads up

Good to know, I've blown up my laptop twice so far. At least the first time was covered by my HP warranty.

I'll have to do some research.

Edit: Is the recall just for Sony, because I know from countless forum discussion HP laptops with nVidia had the same problem.
