Improve the concept of villain

Hi there, this is my first post in this forum.

I have played city of heroes(mostly villains), but i always felt that something is missing.

I mostly play as a villain, but i dont really feel like that i am a villain, since i can't attack paragon city at will, enter it, and start causing mayhem.

My suggestion:

I dont suggest that villains could get into paragon city and attack all the time 24/7, that would be horrible for new starters; but there's something else that could be done:

-make timed events, like "Attack on Skyway City", which would happen sometimes a day, and would cycle through other cities, and villains could join the attack and attack the city, while heroes should defend it, being that destruction caused by villains would have consequences in hero world

-having mission like robbing the bank, which would be played by both sides, with heroes defending and villains attacking. I say this because having cities like Sirens Call where people are thrown out of context to fight, doesn't seem right. What i'm suggesting is a "Scenario" system, played by both sides.

I dont know if i'm taking every factor in consideration on my suggestions, but in a first view, this seems like a good suggestion, i'm sure it would improve the game a lot.

And make us villains feel like villains, and heroes feel like heroes

One factor you're overlooking - people here are *not* generally inclined toward PVP. Open world PVP - technical considerations aside - is met with quite a bit of "The day that shows up, I cancel my sub."

The game's just not built for it, and the community in general hasn't really accepted it. (I like it, to a point - and you're suggesting something in Aion, called "Rifting.")

Doing it as an instance, sure. More settings for PVP are fine with me - even with NPCs to deal with, though at the levels you typically will find PVPers, most stuff will be grey. But open world PVP just tends not to fly in this game.

Yeah, i have to agree with you. But at least, the instanced pvp should be implemented, it would be too awesome.

What i think would be awesome, a open PvP zone. Villains go there to rob banks and cause destruction. At the same time, heroes go there to stop the villains from doing their thing. It's basically a PvP Mayhem.

Yeeeeaaano. No. I like me PvE free of any and all PvP thank you very much. Want to fight heroes, go to a PvP zone.

The very 1st time I did a Safeguard mission, the day they launched.
I rounded the corner and came face to face with the villain robbing the place.
Looking at the outfit, I thought it was a player controlled villain, if only for a split second before I realized it couldnt be (Since PvP is strictly guarded here)

I'll say 2 things here.

1. I hate PvP.

2. I've wished since that day that it WAS a player controlled baddie that I could stop from robbing the bank.

Only problem with this is. The haves and havenots.
The players here that PvP do so hardcore. They don't build the toon for PvE and then PvP when challenged. They build the toon to specifically stomp you quick.
Add to that the fact that PvP is horribly broken in this game and well...

Only way I'd endorse it would be if it was optional. As in when the Detective gives you the safeguard/Mayhem, you have the option to pick PvE or PvP.

Of course, this means there would have to be a solo player doing the mission at that moment, or a team your size. Which would lead to the feature never being used.

Bad timing for this thread considering we will be getting missions with alternate morality paths.

I like this idea... But how about make it so Villains can't attack the Players unless they attack you or a teammate? This is what going to happen in DC Online kinda. You can attack players unless you are in PvP mode witch I know we don't have but we can make one It would be fun to break and kill everything in sight or stop the villains :P

I'm with the bunny, please keep PvP "locked up". No tag system, please, that just brings frustrated PvPers into the PvE zones to harass people and trash talk (not all PvPers, of course, but there'd be enough it'd be annoying).

Dec out.
