Catalyst 10.6 Windows: Anti-Aliasing and Ambient Occlusion SHOULD be working
Still not working for me.
OS: Win7 x64
Card: 5850
Drivers: 10.6
Res: 1920x1080
Occlusion Settings:
Customized
Strength: Strong w/Bleeding
Res: Quality
Blur: Trilateral
I get the artifacts no matter which AA setting I use. Also went ahead and tried to match my settings to yours just in case, but still no luck.
Did the full Uninstall-reboot-Driver Sweeper-Reboot-Install-Reboot deal. So unless there's something else I'm missing, it's still a no-go for me.
On the plus side, I hadn't noticed we had advanced shadow settings until now. Yay! On the minus side, my post count is no longer 1337. Boo.
okay, make sure you report your system specs and that AA / AO still won't work together here: http://www.amd.com/us/CatalystCrewSurvey
Done.
Same results as Kyasubaru. Still getting the graphical artifacts with FSAA+AO, regardless of the settings of either feature.
OS: Win7 x64
Card: 5870
Drivers: 10.6
Res: 1920x1200 (Windowed)
I did fill out the CatalystCrewSurvey page, for what it's worth.
Same here. 10.6, and I still get square artifacts. Perhaps a driver wipe would help, but I am unfamiliar with how best to deal with Catalysts. Is such a drastic action necessary?
Oh and just FYI, the 5000 series had far worse corruption compared to the 4000 series.

Rickar - 50 Bots/FF Mastermind
Anti-Muon - 42 Warshade

Aber ja, natrlich Hans nass ist, er steht unter einem Wasserfall.

1. Go to guru3d and get Driversweeper.
2. Get new ATi drivers.
3. Uninstall your ATI drivers, etc.
4. Reboot into safe mode.
5. Run driversweeper.
6. Reboot, install new drivers.

Yeah, I suspect that if this is fixed at all, it's only for the 4000 series.
If you want to do so -
1. Go to guru3d and get Driversweeper. 2. Get new ATi drivers. 3. Uninstall your ATI drivers, etc. 4. Reboot into safe mode. 5. Run driversweeper. 6. Reboot, install new drivers. |

Same procedure as for Forceware, then. I'll give it a try if je_saist says the issue is fixed on 5000s.

I forced* the issue somewhat on my RadeonHD 2600 Mobile (Catalyst Mobile 2600), and cranked the settings on the 4850 from the original shot.
* The 2600 was actually incredibly unstable when running both AO and AA, although this is more because these features are really outside of the 2600's performance envelope.
AA+AO 5770:

AA+AO 2600*:

AA|AO 4850:

As can be seen from the screenshots, the error seems to be fixed on ATi's OpenGL 3.x class cards. If I remember correctly, 10.6 is the first driver to default to using the OpenGL 3.3 driver. This falls in line with the Preview Driver that I've been talking about where AA+AO was fixed. At that time I only had the 4850's and 3870's.
However, it still seems to be broken in the OpenGl 4.0 driver, which the 5000 series will be using as of 10.6. Theoretically then, since the fix for OpenGL 3.x has filtered down, a fix for OpenGl 4.x shouldn't be too long in the making.

Catalyst 10.6, RadeonHD 4850, Windows NT6:

I'm no longer seeing the bubbles and dots in other zones either, so if you are looking to run both Anti Aliasing and Ambient Occlusion on Windows with ATi RadeonHD, you'll want to be running Catalyst 10.6.
