The respecs earned from the Trials can be used on either your primary or secondary builds. Just make sure that you have the right build active that you want to respec.
Just your current build. Each respec you gain can only be once, on whatever your current build is.

To clarify:
Whichever build you are in when you earn the respec makes no difference. When you USE your respec is when you need to make sure you have as "active" the build that you want to change.
Heya, when I was leveling up I realized I did things a little... wonky, so I decided to go to the trainer and use the second build that they offer at 10 to act kinda like a respec.
I'm high enough now to do a Terra Volta trial, and I was wondering: Does Terra volta effect both 'specs' or just the build I'm in at the time?
