Concept Builds
My version of Dr. Strange is a Grav/Rad Controller, and is pretty decent, though slow. Lots of pool powers, too. I have often considered going with a Defender, probably including a Dark powerset, but haven't tried it. Either way, it's not going to be exactly right, but I think we agree there.
Hit girl - dual pistols/devices ?

Good list, but I've seen a kick-*** Iron Man clone. He was an energy/energy blaster with one of the robot armor sets with the gold and yellow themes. He looked like Iron Man and the guy played him like Iron Man. It was pretty awesome.
Hawkeye - Archery/TA Corruptor (or Archery Blaster for the non-sucky version)
Iron Man - Can't really be done IMO. NRG/NRG Blaster, or Doc Mike's Defender version I guess. Although a squishy Iron Man makes my eyebrows twitch, as does an Iron Man with visible force fields and gimpy blasts. |
I would say that any archer character would almost have to be a archery/ta corruptor....that is if you like actually killing the enemy. I've had archery/devices blaster and a ta/archery Defender.....they both ended up being deleted. Finally Archery became available for Corruptors and now I'm rolling Bloodbow. a kick-*** Archery/TA Corruptor. It's awesome with TA as the secondary and archery as the primary. The main gripe about the Defender with that reverse combo was the inability to easily kill the enemy, and as far as playing a Defender, the expectation was for me to be buffing the other players and at least debuffing the enemy. I was, but TA just isn't the set for it. I would argue that the Archery/TA Corruptor is the only viable build for a concept character based upon the comics characters that use arrows, trick and otherwise........unless they come up with a version of TA for blasters.
@Joshua.
And Dr. Doom would be a Bots/Dark mm, most folks forget that he's a fairly talented magic type :P
The more people I meet, the more I'm beginning to root for the zombies.

Iron Man is one of my favorite comic heroes, so of course I have played an homage character to experience the fun of what it could be like as Iron Man. I have tried both the Defender and Blaster versions (several variations as well) and I feel that Energy-Energy Blaster is as close as you will get in the game. Just take some defensive powers, IO as much as you can and enjoy. As far as the comic version of him not being "squishy", I am gonna have to say that he was quite fragile compared to other heroes (and villains). In fact, both He and Human Torch could very easily be classed as hover-blasters more-so than just about anyone else I can think of. The fact that Iron Man could do some melee carnage doesnt make him less of a blaster in my mind either. Lets face it, Energy Melee is pretty deadly and in addition do we know how much money Tony Stark had to spend to repair his suit after every fight he was involved in?

Good thing he was a rich man.
BIOSPARK :: DARKTHORN :: SKYGUARD :: WILDMAGE
HEATSINK :: FASTHAND :: POWERCELL :: RUNESTAFF
Yep. Its always worth remembering that even Blasters regularly bounce bullets off their chests.
Force Field / Energy Blast / Fly / Stealth / Psi Epic / Teleportation / Medicine Defender
As Defender he runs without fitness... Almost all his powers that are common used spells are in here ... even the Crimson Bands of Cyttorak are build in with a red colored FF. And Phase makes the astral body.
Also.. Defender fits his role as leader of the Defenders.

I always find it a bit funny how Iron Man and Dr Strange end up with the same powersets when I translate them to CoH
Oh yeah, for Deadpool or any other occasional Gun wielder - stock up on Temp powers. Confiscated beanbag (75 shots) is a one mission Ouro. (and you get 2 merits)
So is the Holy Shotgun, I think thats the first mission of that arc.
Add in the temp power Revolver and you hardly ever run out of ammo.
