CoH on a laptop
I just got a laptop and installed CoH on it. But, I'm stuck.
When I started up the game, the screen showing my characters was larger than the display area, such that I could not see all of the screen. I could not see the clickable icons at the bottom of the screen to enter the game, go back to the server selection screen, etc. How can I change from full-screen mode to putting CoH in a scalable window that will fit in the display area of my laptop? Is there an option that can be specified in the startup command to specify windows mode or display size? Thank you. |
Alternatively you should be able to hook up your laptop to your PC's monitor and use that to fix the settings.
Or just go in under Safe Mode on the laptop and adjust them from there.
Dec out.
TweakCoH is also handy for this.

It's a program that lets you adjust CoH settings without starting the game. The resolution settings are in the "Display" section. Uncheck full screen and set the display res to something that'll fit on your screen. You can resize from there.
EDIT: Just a note that I would probably not modify any of the other graphics settings. The program pre-dates ultra mode and I'm unsure how it interacts. Stuff on the display tab works great though.
Thanks for the replies, everyone. I'll give your tips a try.
Would the "Windowed mode" display option (so you can see the start menu in the bottom left hand side of the screen) and clicking on the "maximize for window" button in the upper right hand corner of COX lead to the same results?
