Try restarting the updater - the port it is using may be being blocked somewhere it will use a different port when it restarts.

Me to...just wont connect. I checked my net_disconnect log and get this...
05-25-2010 21:31:13 3720 893 disconnect error 10054:An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host.
It just keeps ticking up and up. Wtf, I was JUSt connect 5 mins ago?
replynig to myself..lol. restarted my router and boom..connected. give it a try too?
Genrally, when my updater doesn't connect by Attempt #3, I close it, and flush my DNS cache. Nine times out of ten, I'm able to connect just fine afterwards.
Press the WinKey+R to bring up the Run menu (or Start -> Run if you don't have a keyboard with a WinKey; Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Run for Vista/Win7 without a WinKey). In the box, type the following: ipconfig /flushdns and then press Enter.

Opened the network manager and told it to reconfig the connection...

You're all welcome. Like I said, it seems to work about 9 out of 10 times. Sometimes, though, even that won't work.

That fixed it for me, I'm curious did this just start recently or have people had this problem for awhile? For me it started last night, and oddly enough the same time tonight.
I've had it happen to me off and on for at least two years now.
