It will also die when something so much as frowns in it's direction. Don't depend on it, it'll be dead anytime you actually "need" it.

AoEs tend to do less damage than single target attacks and I've had the fairy survive single AoE hits and live long enough to regen all it's health.

I had a something/cold buff my pet with Frostwork (+HP) and the cold shields, it was very survivable after that. Plus having a floating cross of ice next to Jack Frost looked awesome 
. I vaguely recall someone saying that Frostwork doesn't work as well on these pets any more though...

Like MK said, the pet survives pretty well if you're a character that gives toggle area defense buffs. If I ever feel the need to use it on my cold corruptor, it has some decent staying power.
If you happen to consider Grant Invisibility a useful tool for your team, keep in mind that it automatically makes your pet immune to anything except AoE; the pet never attacks so it never gets noticed. It'll last as long as the Invis lasts or until it's unlucky enough to get AoE'd. Putting other defenses on top of that makes it even more survivable.

My inquiry is of the veteran rewards. I'm going to be getting my 48 month Battle Hardened Badge one week from now which will give me access to one of these little guys;
Summon Pet Power: CHOICE: Light Fairy, Dark Fairy, Blue Wisp, Red Wisp, Shield Oscillator, Power Oscillator, Shield Drone, or Power Drone.
Will these little pets be able to stack on his dispersion bubble, maneuvers, Grant Invis, an thus upping my Force Field defenders defensive prowess?
