ATI mobility problems.

So I have a laptop that has a ATI mobility radeon 9600 pro turbo and I cant seem to get it to display the game. What happens is when I load the game and it goes to the character selection screen, the background is all black but I can see the HUD and names. I can select the character and log in but I cant see anything but the HUD and the blue names over everyones head. So i can interact with things and all and see all text and my HUD but thats it. Any suggestions?
Oh and quick note, it works fine for games like WOW, DDO, left for dead, just not COH and I did update to the latest driver offered by the laptop manufacturer
