Game freeze when opening contact window

Ok as an update. I had a split second on my second character who was stuck in Indy port before the game froze and I used that to close the contact window. I can play for now I will have to test it on my other character.
Update the second.
I got a response to my petition. The GM told me to start the game up in Safe Mode. I did that and i was able to shut down my contacts window.
Now I just gotta figure out why my game freezes when I open my contacts window.
What video card and driver version are you running with?

The lag is many times worse with the contacts window because the game is loading the contact's thumbnail graphics for all of the contacts your character has collected. Even on my brand new computer with SSDs and 6GB of GDDR3 RAM, I still see a significant hit to FPS when I open the contacts window.
I've seen computers freeze when this happens but they usually 'revive' after awhile, unless there are a lot of other programs running. Post a CohHelper and HijackThis report so we can see your system specs. Links in my signature.

I would still like to know what kind of video card/GPU and video drivers LegendaryJMan is using to play CoH.

CohHelper does show the video card and driver being used.

I looked but I did not see anyone having this particular issue.
So far on two of my characters when I open the contact window the completely freezes. I can't even control + alt + delete. I have to turn my PC off to be able to get anything done.
Unfortunately these two characters that I did it with are now stuck because as soon as I load them on they freeze because the contact window is open.
My first character is stuck in grandville and I sent petition to a GM to move him because I thought it was some grandville lag bug. I did not realize it was a contact window until my second character who is a hero opened her contact window and completely froze the game.
I just re-verified my files and I am going to try to load them up again. Has anyone seen this issue before? Anyone know how to get around it?
