Journey to the Netherworld OOC

I so agree with you Tramontane! Thought I do have demons I play them as ones that got summoned and escaped/killed the summoner. So they had to be weak to be summoned.

Since Illusionist's magic now effects the other characters I should probably explain how I think it works. Basically he's fooled the world into thinking the other heroes are what they imagine demons to be like. Sort of a costume/character change. Since he now looks taller his point of view has been raised. Since he looks like he has a tail and claws he can use them as weapons. The claws won't work on anyone who believes he doesn't have claws. And since he wrapped his own magic around Hellish magic, everyone should give off a slight demonic aura like I imagine real demons would. Also everyone looks like whatever they we're thinking off when he cast the spell.

what if they were thinking of a bunny? would it be an evil flesh eating bunny?

Hypotheticly of course

In the beginning the universe was created, this upset many people and is widely regarded as a bad idea.

Well I imagine you were thinking of a normal bunny you would become a normal bunny that still seemed a bit demonic, and if you were thinking of a flesh eating bunny you would become a flesh eating bunny. But since Illusionist's magic works on people's beliefs, all of his spells do whatever the person believes they do. Still, an ordinary bunny that was kinda creepy sounds hilarious.

Do it! Become the evil bunny! YOU KNOW YOU WANNA!

Ice/Ice Blaster. Dedication to concept is an ugly thing.
Claws/WP Brute. Sex without the angst.
Every CoX character lies somewhere on this spectrum.

LOL. Got a really disturbing picture in my head now. Sorta sounds like the making of a real bad joke.

An ice demon, a succubus, three horned demons and a giant psycho bunny enter a Lamborghini... who takes the wheel?

hmmm succubus sounds most likely and PREPARE TO TREMBLE IN FEAR BEFORE MY MAN EATING BUNNAY!!!!!!!

Real crappy bosh work but you get the message. lol.

Wow that is a very good picture of demon Illusionist. Though I am surprised we can all fit in the car. Why couldn't Sage drive a van or something. Oh and demon bunnies are awesome and should be added to the game.

Heres a popularized theory on the map of Hell that we could use.

Circles of Hell:

1 - Pagans are imprisoned here and trapped by the river Acheron.

2 - Lusters are imprisoned here and trapped in neverending violent storms.

3 - Gluttons are imprisoned here in vile freezing slush and guarded by the demon Ceberus.

4 - Here the greedy are forced to lift crushing weights and guarded by the demon Plutus.

5 - Here the wrathful are forced to fight each other on the river Styx while the sullen gurgle in it.

6 - Heretics are trapped here in the City of Dis (administrative centre of Hell) and forced into flaming tombs.

7 - Phlegyas: Here the violent, tyrant and murderous are left to burn in a lake of boiling blood.

- Wastelands: Here the suicides and squanderers are left to wander, surrounded by roads, trees, streams, oil and factories.

- Fiery Desert: Here the sodomites, blasphemers and usurers (basically the Bank) are left to burn and die, again and again.

8 - Malebolge: Ten ditches where counterfeiters, hypocrites, grafters, seducers, sorcerers and simonists are punished, guarded by the demon Geryon.

9 - Here traitors and betrayers of special relationships (like Judas, Brutus and Satan) are imprisoned in the icy Lake Cocytus.

I don't know about you but I'm looking forward to taking on those infamous demons. Cerberus, Plutus, Malebranche, Geryon and the titular Nasfahtu.

Now looking at that list and those three maps, Pious would've been wrong about the location of Antonio Gar and the children of Bastet. As pagans (non-Abrahamic), they'd be in the first circle. However, Antonio is wrathful so maybe he is in the fifth. Hmm, I see plottage here. Our characters could have differences in opinions, squabbles and what have you.

I thought of a secondary plot. Technically Rotten is dead and before that he was an Arachnos Wolf Spider trooper.

Be interesting if someone comes to claim his soul and send him where he belongs.

Well that all I came up with. As for the wandering Spirit she should be from the Wastelands. She a suicide and her personal and she craves life that she wasted. AGH Altitus kicking in... must not give in!

Hah! Finally caught up and got the time to tack on another thread to my list. I can already feel the evil spreading. Whoopie!

I think most of the characters have been communicating via spoken word anyway since leaving the lava tombs and entering the City of Dis. Midnighter mages near the city/lava tombs border are supporting the psychic network and empowering the team so I guess thats the communication method that the Illusionist is using. Agreed, it needs to be conveyed using italics or color or something. But my hero has been talking openly, not out loud obviously, but he isn't at all afraid of eavesdroppers so the hell with whispering. LOL.

M'kay, that might not be so bad then if most everyone else has been talking out loud - reason being Kasha doesn't do telepathy. You could have a telepath mind-yelling at him all day long and he wouldn't catch a thing.

What about a thought network he could think into? That's what the team are using.

Sorry about the whole telepathy thing. Illusionist is usually wearing a mask and people tend to get spread out during fights so I always figured he would use telepathy since they wouldn't hear him otherwise. (Telepathy is his in chracter version of party chat.) If it would make any more sense for Sage to hear him, it isn't ordinary telepathy. Illusionist is giving off the illusion that he is speaking. Sage can still see everyone's disguises and BrassRobo so it would make sense that if he saw demon Illusionist and he saw demon Illusionist's mouth moving he might be tricked into thinking Illusionist was actually talking. (All of Illusionist's magic ultimately works by misdirection.) But I suppose putting all his lines in italics would make snese.

Most masked heroes would just have a voice-changer built in so maybe thats something to consider?

I was wondering if when the next time you posted in the thread you could mention Illusionist and Brassrobo randomly being sucked into a portal through space and time. I know its kind of a silly way to get them out of the story but both characters are engimatic enough that it would make sense for them and it would allow me to reintroduce them when I get my account back. Thanks in advance.
That's the message from Fireybolt. We look forward to your return buddy.

So here's what I'm thinking plot-wise once we've escaped the biker demons as we escaped the flaming dragons...

Motorcycle ride through Flaming Tombs (Heretics/6th circle) > Dragon rides over the Wall of Dis > Fight each other through River Styx (Wrath/5th circle) > Lift crushing weights and fight with Demon Plutus (Greed/4th circle) > Swim through vile freezing slush and fight Demon Cerberus (Glutton/3rd circle) > Survive the neverending violent storms (of Lusters/2nd circle) > Resist the mental torture/personal Hell of the Demon Golem and rescue Officer James Neil, Antonio Barzini-Gar and his mother 'Pistol' > Defeat the Demon Nasfahtu and escape the Netherworlds via river Acheron... with some angelic help. Any thoughts?
