Hello, Looking for help in geting my game to work. Currently every time I try to launch the game I a pop up that says my card or driver doesn't support ARB_multitexture & doesn't support ARB_texture_compression. I've tried downloading updated drivers but I still get the same error. Is my video card no longer able to run this game? Any suggestions on what I can do to get the game running again? Thx for the help.

From the ATI legacy driver page:

Quote:

Note: AMD’s DirectX 9 ATI Radeon graphics accelerators are not officially supported under Windows 7. If the user chooses to, they can install the ATI Catalyst Windows Vista graphics driver under Windows 7. Please be aware that none of the new Windows 7 graphics driver (WDDM 1.1) features are supported (as the Windows Vista level graphics driver is limited to WDDM 1.0 level support).
With that being said, I'd recommend upgrading the drivers. The most current legacy driver from AMD is the 10.2 driver from February, 2010. I'm not certain which drivers you have installed although it looks like the default Windows 7 drivers. Those drivers do not have full OpenGL support built into them so will not run the game correctly as City of Heroes uses OpenGL.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Black Pebble is my new hero.

Ok, your system memory and page file are pretty small, especially by current standards. I'd increase both. You don't even technically meet the requirements stated by Microsoft to run your OS: http://windows.microsoft.com/systemrequirements

Beyond that, it looks like you're using Microsoft drivers for your card. The latest ATI drivers available for you are here: http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownloa...-Bit%20Edition These are Vista drivers but they should still work. Official Win7 drivers for your card don't exist and likely never will due to your card's age. ATI considers your card to be a 'legacy' card so it's no longer formally supported.

Really though, you do need to be thinking about a system upgrade. At least to the memory and video card. Those two alone would definitely improve your system performance.

It is known that there are an infinite number of worlds, simply because there is an infinite amount of space for them to be in. However, not every one of them is inhabited. Therefore, there must be a finite number of inhabited worlds. Any finite number divided by infinity is as near to nothing as makes no odds, so the average population of all the planets in the Universe can be said to be zero. From this it follows that the population of the whole Universe is also zero, and that any people you may meet from time to time are merely the products of a deranged imagination.

I caught nano in a global channel.

I've got a 9600 AGP on hand, and well... Against all of the OpenGL games I have on hand (CoH, Quake, Doom, UT'99, Prey, No One Lives Forver, Contract Jack, AvP2), each has severe running issues with Windows 7 and the 9-3-1 driver set.

As of the I17 update, everything "so far" in CoH has been stable against the 9-3-1 driver under Xp.

Thanks. I got the game to start. Guess I'll have to look into upgrades & revert back to XP. Right now just experiencing random game crashes. Thx for the response guys.
