Marvel in general has better developed characters, that tends to make them better choices for movies. Batman tends to be the exception for DC.

True, DC's movies haven't been up to the level of Marvel's movies. I was so hoping Superman Returns was gonna be good a few years ago, but it wasn't. Brandon Routh (as proven by his role in Chuck) is just a piece of good looking plywood. His acting skills are almost nonexistent. The Batman franchise is the only thing holding DC movies up right now. Where as Marvel has Spiderman, X-Men and Iron Man (and others I'm forgetting I suppose).
