Epic options for Energy/Devices

Hello all.

I finally have a character who's reached the point where Ancillary Power Pools are a consideration. Initially chose Force Mastery with Personal Force Field but I'm beginning to second-guess myself.

Cold Mastery is starting to look better to me. I like the idea of combining Snow Storm's -Recharge on enemies with Hasten's personal +Recharge. Seems like a good way to increase my offensive firepower while diminishing the bad guys' capabilities.

I was hoping for input from more experienced players on how the various APPs synergize with energy/devices, as well as general thoughts on the powers' usefulness.

Finally, this is for a solo PvE character.

Thanks.

Have you tried out Repulsion Bomb in Force Mastery yet? This is a fun way to start a fight:

1) Repulsion bomb. Stuff falls down and takes damage.

2) Energy torrent.

3) Queue up explosive blast BEFORE energy torrent finishes activating. Since torrent has some travel time before the knockback goes into effect, tag them with explosive blast before some are knocked out of the AoE effect.

Three AoEs back-to-back, with very little chance for your enemies to do anything. No setup time is required. After that, the rest is cleanup.

Hadn't considered that option, Johnny. I assume that the KB from all three attacks would stack. I kind of like the idea of watching groups of bad guys go flying like bowling pins. I'll have to think about this. Thanks for the reply.

They don't really "stack" in the same way you can stack debuffs (sonic, rad, etc). Repulsion bomb is knockdown, so it won't knock stuff out of torrent/blast AoE range. Since energy torrent and explosive blast don't cause knockback 100% of the time, using them in rapid succession just increases the chance of one landing, and allows them both to hit all the targets before they go on their merry way.

But yea, "sending stuff flying like bowling pins" is usually the net result.

Thanks for clarifying; should've realized that myself. Like Nemesis, I am most definitely "down" with that. Word up, my homie, as it were. (couldn't resist, dig your quote )
