How's World of Confusion for Fire/Rad?

W/the BotZ changes coming, I'm going to retire my AV-soloing build (well, mostly) and turn him into more of a typical, (PB)AoE build and was thinking of stacking WoC w/the usual CC + HF combo. I know WoC mostly sucks, but can be made almost useful w/the Coercive purp proc. Anyone try this before? How's it work out?

Here's a build I more or less threw together. Prolly needs a lot more fine tuning, esp for end management, tho a +1.37 recovery is sorta manageable. I'm really gonna miss my ranged def-cap, tho w/RI, it's more than survivable.

An Offensive Guide to Ice Melee

Take a look at this thread just a few down to see a discussion on World of Confusion. The AoE is just too small to do much good. You will get much more benefit from Psi Tornado.

LOCAL MAN! The most famous hero of all. There are more newspaper stories about me than anyone else. "Local Man wins Medal of Honor." "Local Man opens Animal Shelter." "Local Man Charged with..." (Um, forget about that one.)

I tried to make WoC work on my Fire/Rad... but it has a couple of major issues that seriously compromise it's effectiveness.

First, the AOE is tiny... much smaller than Hot Feet or Choking Cloud, and second the confuse duration is practically nonexistent... you'll never notice it actually doing anything.

I tried respecing it into a proc heavy power... it will actually take 6 procs. Even so, I was disappointed with the power; mainly because of the extremely small AOE. Yeah, the procs were nice, but too sporadic and only affected mobs who were right on top of me.

After lots of trial and a couple of respecs to make it work I've decided to drop it; in my testing I just couldn't get enough benefit out of it to justify having the power... I'll be going back to Psi Tornado with the i17 freespec.

Yeah, I knew the radius was pitifully small. That's disappointing to hear, tho not particularly surprising. I still might do it as a purp mule and test it out.

I think (but don't quote me) that World of Confusion may be the only power in the game that both does damage and is non-notify. In theory if you could gather enough enemies in an 8ft radius and go invisible, you could go AFK and defeat anything that doesn't have significant regen. Why you would bother I have no idea.

I have WoC on my Fire/Rad. I tend to wade neck deep into the fray, so it does get plenty of targets to fire off on. Those targets are usually locked down by my Chocking Cloud, if not by my Cages proc, Flashfire, Cinders, etc etc. However, I can honestly say I have seen enemies manage to escape my holds by get hit with the Confuse and start attacking their comrades. I notice it happens fairly often, especially if I take the time to look for it. It has never really saved my bacon, but to roll into any mob with that much PBAoE control spewing out of me feels and looks cool.
