(Those types are usually called 120s or proc120s.).

I've never tested it but my understanding based on the description is that it doesn't stack with stealth, you need super speed or a stealth IO.

The second issue is my power set, an AR/gadget Blaster with tech origin. So far I've gotten all the main power set attacks, and I plan on getting leaping for flavor reasons. Is there any major stumbling blocks for this build (other than late game resistances) or suggestions on what I should take?

3. Caltrops is an excellent power for keeping enemies out of melee range
4. Beanbag and Taser are both stuns, I'd recommend beanbag over taser since it's got a longer range but if you take both it allows you to easily stun bosses |
Example: Caltrops. Toss it between you and the enemies. It really hoses them up when they try to rush you. They will spend half their time trying to get off of it. In the meantime, you can be filling them full of holes. If they do finally cross enough if it to get close to you, then just jump over them to the other side of the Caltrops patch. Force your enemies to waste time tryin to decide on whether they want to get to you or to get off the patch. If you really want to piss off a Boss, use the Web Grenade on them while they're on the Caltrops.
Example: the Beanbag and Taser combo. Bosses require 2 applications of the same mez type for it to take affect. Both Beanbag and Taser are stuns. Using them in a quick 1-2 combo on a Boss and he's out of the fight for a while. Now you have time to take out the riff raff without the Boss hounding you. When either Beanbag or Taser is recharged, pop the Boss again to refresh the stun and you can keep him out of the fight indefinitely.
You may notice your team mates approaching a large group of enemies and everyone is afraid to be the first one in. If you don't neglect your controls, then you will have the tools to handle almost any situation. Solo if necessary.
Teams are the number one killer of soloists.
Stealth from the Concealment pool is Cloaking Device with a -slow self penalty. They're mutually exclusive, you can't run both at the same time. To get effective invisibility, you can pair Cloaking Device (or Stealth) with either Smoke Grenade, Superspeed or a Stealth IO.
Teams are the number one killer of soloists.

Welcome to the game fellow AR/Dev Blaster :-D I'm sort of suprised you mentioned completing all the missions your contact in Atlas park gave you. At your current level that contact should have given you a new one in King's Row, or even Galaxy City that has mission at your level. If not make a trip back and click on them again .. you should see an option for getting a new contact. Anyone can simply head to the Hollows and find Dave Wincott standing by his patrol car near the entrance to get missions there. In addition as soon as you arrive in KR you'll be directed to the Police Detecive that is you SCanner contact. After talking to him you get a Police Scanner that will also give you access to missions at your level.. these lead to Safeguards that will grant you temp powers like a Raptor Pack so you can "temporarily" fly as opposed to running everywhere.
I am a new player. Hello. I would also like to ask for help in getting an enjoyable gaming experience, meaning I don't want to spend several hours at a time beating one mook. Ergo, I am asking for help.
I have two issues to adress. The first one is about where I should go to continue a regular gaming sequence. I've only reached level six recently, and I've completed the missions I could get in Atlas park. The areas I've checked so far contain either mooks too weak to get experience from, or ones more than double my level. What area should I go to next? The second issue is my power set, an AR/gadget Blaster with tech origin. So far I've gotten all the main power set attacks, and I plan on getting leaping for flavor reasons. Is there any major stumbling blocks for this build (other than late game resistances) or suggestions on what I should take? If this topic should be moved to another sub forum, that is fine. Thank you for any scraps of information that you would be willing to share with a new player. |
As for your build, someone else mentioned it, definately get your targeting drone thius will dramatically increase your accuracy and you'll enjoy trip mines when they become available. Do not skip your cloaking device since it will allow you to move around fairly safely.. It's not perfect so don't get TOO close to anything or you can be spotted but it will let you get close and lay down a mine field you can then lure enemies onto and watch them go flying. LOL Have fun and enjoy the game!
