I found specifications for both. They appear to be identical. I suspect if there is in fact a XL2370 and a XL2370-1, there's most likely a small internal difference that doesn't change any of the specifications per se. Could be something as simple as using a different module on the mainboard in the monitor. Either way, I wouldn't stress over it too much

Something else to consider about those numbers. A hardware manufacturer I used to work for coded the retail model numbers for some products based on who the retailer was, and the version in our online store had a different ending number. The standard retail package sent to the majority of vendors had no ending tag number at all, similar to the XL2370 version.

It made it relatively easy to tell where people had purchased the products from, and what specials may have been offered on them, based on the ending -xx of the model number. Also, some retailers had a different warranty system in place and it gave us information about that as well.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Thanks, all - I think I'm going for one of those Samsungs - would be nice to find a place with both I could look at side by side, but that probably won't happen. The local Best Buy doesn't have any of the keyboards on my short list, so I'll have to see what happens there.
