Are there any good Private Eye arcs out there?
I've heard a lot of people say good things about Kiss Hello Goodbye (arc 156389) as being a very film noir story arc. It is not my arc and I have not personally played it, but it's the arc that immediately leapt to mind when I saw your request.
Of my arcs, Talos Vice (arc 338380) is a possible match, though it is, strictly speaking, a crime drama more in the style of Miami Vice than Humphrey Bogart.
I'd also recommend The Next War on Drugs (arc 245042). I seem to remember The Paragon Caper (arc 65246) as being kinda neat along these lines too.
Have fun!

The closest I have to a detective story is "Two Households Alike" (#126582), which is really more of a police story. "Splintered Shields" (#253991) has also been compared to a police story, one focused on an Internal Affairs division.
I'm a fan of detective stories myself ("The Simple Art of Murder" should be required reading for prospective Architects) but haven't written anything like that for MA because I'm not sure it would really work well. Despite their superficial appearance, good detective stories are not about the crime but are about the detective, and hijacking the PC is an unforgivable trespass.

I've had an idea for a good detective story arc for a while, which I'll probably get around to making once I17 comes out (Since I'd like to use a lot of the new MA features). It starts with a similar premise as Watchmen, with the death of a superhero; which, given the mediporters in the CoH setting, strikes me as something that would be a big deal in Paragon city.
I actually had the idea of leaving it unfinished at 4 missions and running a contest for people to figure out who the killer is, with the reward being that their character gets to play a major role in solving the mystery in the 5th mission. Part of me thinks that would be fun, another part thinks that anyone who played after the contest was over would feel kind of cheated by a character showing up in the last mission and basically spelling out the mystery for you. It all depends on how I write it, I guess.

12 second horror stories - a writing experiment.
Played both Talos Vice (338380) and The Paragon Caper (65246). Both were very fun 'cops & robbers' type arcs, although Talos Vice had an extra layer of 80s neon awesome sauce on it.
Okay, I thought I had posted this earlier, but I just can't find it on the boards anywhere. So either it didn't go through or I'm just flipping blind. If it did go through and someone can link me to it, I'll ask the mods to delete this version of it.
Anyway, I've got an alt (Dual Pistols blaster) whose concept is that of a private investigator in a sort-of Humphrey Bogart manner. Hard boiled, no-nonsense, slightly acerbic, etc. What I'm looking for are some arcs written in the P.I./Mystery genre. Subgenre (i.e. Maltese Falcon, Magnum P.I., Moonlighting, Sherlock Holmes, etc.) doesn't really matter to me as long as it allows me to play my character the way I've always wanted to.
So, does anyone out there know of any arcs like this? (I've actually written one myself, but a blaster cannot level on a single arc alone. )
Thank you all for your help in this.
