Thoughts on current and future game features

After a while of playing and thinking "man, it would be great if..." and quickly forgetting my "great" ideas, I decided to start jotting them down. So I'm pretty sure this is most of them. Some would require Game changes, and others are just minor changes to the user interface. Though I'm not a game developer, it seems like many of these could be implemented quickly, at minimal cost, with no negative effects (as they would just be options available--those who didn't want them could ignore them).

Two things that should be addressed immediatley:

-Nerf AE to give XP in a pre-set ratio:

(player level+1)/50

so, 2/50th of full xp at level 1
3/50th of full xp at level 2
(n+1)/50...
Full xp at lvl 49

Was it really the intention to have players who never leave Atlas Park? Lvl 50 khledians that don't know how to get to Talos Island? Cut the number of players who complete actual teams/scanners/arcs/TFs to those who were playing COH before AE?

-Do not allow players with lvl 20 heros/villains have access to epic ATs

-- Why? Is it too hard to get to 50 now? Have they learned enough of the game at level 20 to have an *epic* powerset? If so, maybe these set should just be available from the get-go--afterall, with the AE system it takes, what, one run through a farm to hit 20? Two at most for any farm, really.

Game Changes

-Update Hero Respec to allow a fast paced/more challenging end mission
--option for "Classic" and "new" respecs fine.
---double spawns
---continious spawns
---EBs in Spawns

Especially in the 44+ Respec--ridiculously easy, most of the game time is spent standing in reactor room without a shield complaining how much down time there is.

-Allow color customization of epic powers.
--Enough said.

-Inspiration crafting badge

-- x number of insps crafted (in each class (Damage, Accuracy, Defense, Resist, Endurance, Health, Resusitate, Break Free)) allows player to use 2 of same type instead of 3 to craft a new insp.
-- y number of insps crafted (in each class) allows player to create a tier 2 insp with 4 tier 1 insps (and tier 3 with tier 2)
-- z number of insps crafted (in each class) gives x% bonus to using insp (eg 35% instead of 25% health for respite)

-Add other types of inspirations, like a hasten insp (granting 3%, 5%, 7% recharge and run/flight speed inc) or Mez inspiration that grants longer duration stun/hold/immob effects, or perhaps increases magnitude of the power by 1, 2 or 3.

-Dual Inspiration Crafting:

--Taking 3 Defense and 3 resistance to make a Def/Res inspiration
--Perhaps this would require the memorization of the recipe first, as well as a "recipe joiner" allowing the crafter to marry two recipes.

-Hazard Zone Teleporter

--For completing special tasks/events in each hazard zone, gain the ability to activate a power similiar to base teleporter, and select a hazard zone among those you've earn the achievment for.

-Raid Team Leader

--Supervises 8 team leaders
---Who can invite 8 team members
+has "leader chat" channel and "all chat" channel in team

Allows 64 man raid team to be organized easily, with a managable span of control and share tasks/experience completed and gained.

-Add more and different kinds of raids

--FBZ, Praetorian Earth, Orenbenga, Striga, Boomtown, Dark Astoria, Perez

-Do something with Dark Astoria and Boomtown
--Blow em up, add tfs, add events, something.

--Maybe DA could be the site of the emergence of a New Orenbenga City with a door to the old city (similiar to Sewer/Abandoned Sewer link) with a 25-30 level range and a 40-50 level range

--Start a raid and TF in Boomtown and explain why it was the worst damaged in rikti war (something special worth looking for there?)

-Write your own recipes

--purchase blank "tablets" with merits
--select what you want an enhancement to do (range/acc)
--get preset configuration of salvage towards that (range/acc)
--Select set bonuses from a predetermined matrix
---matrix would exclude putting all the best bonuses in one set
--more expensive tablets allow better enhancements and set bonuses; would be on par with the bonuses given by orange recipes

-5% mission complete bonus for team leaders
--for hassle of organizing a successful team, to promote team development (the "I dont want to lead" mindset)
--leader/supervisor badges should enahance this bonus a small amount

-badges for other people gaining levels while on your team

--Afterall, isn't that the ultimate determinate of your supervising prowess? Would need to be modified in some way to prevent Powerlevel Farmers from earning too easily. Perhaps simply excluding AE missions and missions open more than 60 days

-Badges for Completing a TF 50 and 100 times.
--Because I'd already have a couple of those, and I like badges.

-More kill badges
--Why isn't there a Quantum/Void killer badge? Kill a Q, save a Khled. Sappers? Demons?

-Badges that give bonuses
--Like tracer badge decreasing likely hood a sorcerer will teleport

-Increase the diameter of cave's in cave missions to that of a typical rikti/croatoa cave
--because no one likes caves

-Give a bit of "priority" to Super Speed over random debris in the street
--Cause little is less heroic than a lvl 50, capable of soloing AVs, stopped in his tracks by litter and shrubs

-Emails from Friends, SG members and Coalies only
--A bulleted check list allowing me to select who can send me emails--All, Friends, Sg, Coalies

--No more spam emails

-Let Co-op zones view hero/villain profiles (powers tab)
--Good for team building

-Merits cumulative for the account, not the character--still non transferrable between accounts
--So i can use those 6 merits on the character I rarely play for something good

-Give me an option to skip the "combine enhancement?=%" screen

--'Cause i already decided I want to combine them

-Fix the bugs in hollows missions/missions in general that allow Enemies to be knocked through walls

--How. Annoying. I never would've thought that these would be here 41 months after I started playing. Maybe we just need thicker walls?

User Interface Updates

-Default the "Memorized Recipes" Category to Collapsed.

--There's absolutley no reason it shouldn't stay collapsed when opening the window a new. I'm not opening my recipes to see what i've memorized, or to make a memorized recipe (I only did THAT for the accolade)--I'm opening to see if I got a purple drop!

--I'm fine with this being a manu option for those who, for some unknown reason, like it the way it is.

-More enhancement slots in tray

--slotting lvl 32-50 ten at a time is a bit tedious. Perhaps at level 30 you should get an extra 10 tray slots. Or maybe you'd have to complete a badge/accolade to get these spots, as with the salvage/recipe inventory increases

-A lock option for tray, so tray 1 doesnt turn into tray 2 in the middle of a fight.

--we can lock powers into place, should have an option to lock the tray number selector. Chances are if you haven't changed your tray at an inopportune time, you don't use a mouse. Additionally this wouldn't affect those who don't want it.

-Increase the number of people I can ignore to infinite. Or at least 1000.

--As it stands now, I dont ignore spammers as it takes people who are truly obnoxious off my ignore list.

-Double the number of people who can join a channel, at least

-FIX THE PROFILE EDITOR--quite possibly the worst and most frustrating text editor ever.

--Why is it I can't type, delete, or press enter without a 50% chance that my insertion point will jump to a random place in the editor? Or that words near the end of a line may become invisible only to show up at a random location in the future? And if youre feeling REALLY generous, maybe a 2048 character limit?

-TF Timer showing how long since you've done a certain TF up to 24 hours

--A tab in the Navigation window, perhaps? This is for us alt-o-holics who would also sell our fist born for 3 merits (and cant're remember what TFs were run when on what toons).

-Fix tab select. i have no idea how.

--maybe an option for melee, range, grouped, or single enemies
or minions/bosses/lts (it never failed that i will tab through every target before finding the one right in front of me, by which time I or they are already dead)

-Auto Attack AND Auto Buff options

--So i can set my brawl (or hack, or frozen fists, or transfusion, or whatever) on auto AND my hasten (or practiced brawler, etc) on auto at the same time.

--One power thats self effect only (Hasten, conserve power, build up and Status Protection come to mind) and one power that's offensive. When in conflict, self buff goes first. This would be a very welcome comfort of life option for a Tank trying to Auto Taunt and Auto hasten while attacking, or a healer Auto healing and Auto Clear Minding, or a Scrapper auto attacking with their weak attack as they cycle through their attack chain and have Conserve power autohit.

-Fix drag and drop salvage to so quantity isnt blank the first time you use it
--Just annoying.

-Add "Give Salvage Stack to (Player)" Option when right clicking a salvage stack.
--So I dont have to right click 30 times.

-Optional time stamp for tells/text/chat
--So don't resond to a 20 minute old tell.

-Window/Hud display that shows all salvage and quantity of that salvage to craft all the recipes in your inventory

--So i don't have to make 10 trips between my base and Wentworths because I thought I had enough ceramic armor to go around...

This is the Technical Issues & Bugs section of the forums. You've apparently mistaken it for the Suggestions and Ideas section of the forums.

Suggestions and Ideas is thataway ------------------------------->

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

Black Pebble is my new hero.

you can try to take it to suggestions and ideas but be warned, alot of what you posted will get eaten to death. if you can not handle criticism of your ideas, i wouldn't bother.
