checksum error when runing test updater
IF you are in the closed beta for I17, you should really be posting this in the Closed Beta forums, not the public forums.
If it's the error message I think it is, it's that it's trying to update the cohupdater.exe file and that file is already in use.
Copy that file (don't cut and paste, don't create a shortcut) from your Test directory to the desktop, double-click the file to start the updater, it should ask where to install to - give it the path of your Test directory and then cancel it as soon as it starts. Now create a shortcut to that cohupdater.exe file you put on the desktop. Put the shortcut on the desktop. Right-click the shortcut and change the path to include the -test tag. Run the shortcut. It will likely put a few extraneous files on the desktop, but when the updating is over you can delete them.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.
Black Pebble is my new hero.
Thanks Tex I'll try that. And thanks for the guidance too. I was actually going to go for the issues and bugs but I guess that would have been wrong too lol.
Same problem here but your fix didn't work Texas
I downloaded the 800mb's and got the checksum error while it was verifying.
Now every time I run the updater it tries to download the 800mb AGAIN! It took an hour and a bit before - I am hoping there is a way of getting around this so I don't have to download the same patch over the top of itself!
HELP please.
