Scrapyarder event... with scaling mobs!

Have it like other zone events where the mobs scale with level, as in the Rikti / zombie stuff. The number of mobs spawned may need to be toned down, but as it is, the level 2* scrapyarders pose no threat to a 50 team.

umm, scrapyard is up every 15 mins or so. at least thats my experience with him. and it is not suppossed to be the mobs that pose a threat to lv 50's, it is scrapyard himself that is the threat. just like evey other gm in the game.

and your point? oh, thats right, you don't have one. when something already comes out that doesn't mess with the rest of the mobs in a zone there is no need to fix what isn't broken. *points to the zombie raids, rikti raids and the supernatural events*. that already makes it hard enough to do a hunt mission for a tf/sf if one of these is going on. now imagine if they added another like it.

It would only affect the scrappies by Scrappie himself o.o if that is possible.

they are the level of the zone if i'm not mistaken. which makes them working as intended.

This isn't a bug reporting forum to discuss WAI. this is SUGGESTIONS.

and your suggestion is not a good one. that is why, if you read your other thread, you have won the WORST IDEA championship. again, if something is working as intended there is no reason to break it.

It's a suggestion forum, isn't changing what's intended the whole point?

I mean powers weren't INTENDED to be customizable. Now they are. Because people suggested it.

that is not the point. all this will do is make hunt missions even worse to complete. he may as well asked for all the gm to be coded this way. either way though, it is an idea that is bad.

/disagree.

Scrapyarders, in general, are a pain (except to my Plant/Thorn.) The last thing I want to deal with is having to pass by on (say) a 40-ish MM and suddenly having a metric ton of TNT sticks thrown by demolitionists wipe me out. Passing that by *getting through the 20s* is a high point of my MMs.

The only things that needs to be done to scrapyard are:
- Make him not run like crazy
- redo his route so he doesn't suicide at the BM kill field.

Plus, not all zone events scale. The Rikti do, yes, as do the zombies. However, Troll raves don't, nor do the Hellions for SC fires. The difference? The troll raves and hellions are persistent events - just like the scrapyarders - thus giving people plenty of time to mess with them (or just say the heck with it and outlevel them.) They really are part of the zone. Holiday/Invasion mobs are not, thus you want to have more people able to fight them in the (generally) limited time they're available.

And those are valid reasons for not supporting the idea. Saying it's bad to change things because they're working as intended is not.

Cleb: part of the problem with this... point of view... is that it encourages the truely inane, insane, and sometimes downright stupid ideas that emerge from some of the players. The_Coming_Storm and Power_NA have achieved significant reputations as providing consistently awful ideas, hence some of the quick backlash from some of the player base that browses the forums. The lack of decent suggestions that improve the game is considered a contributing factor to having moved the Suggestions from the Development forum segment to the For Fun forum segment.

It's been rumored, but never confirmed, that the developers are extremely unlikely to pay attention to the threads in the current suggestion forum. As I understand it, the development staff largely rely on the moderators to sort through the sheer amount of bad ideas and bring possible ideas to the attention of the development staff.

Citing player-desired changes like power customization isn't exactly... well... valid, as a strength of the suggestions forums. The topic of customizing powers has been brought up through in-game petitions, at conventions where the developers intended, and even by the developers themselves. It also was, and is, a genuinely good idea that benefits the entire game. Very few of the suggestions made in this Suggestions forum really quality as benefiting the entire game.
