Need advice on a concept
Ice/Stone/Fire Tanker.

I would actually ask what's most important for your concept.
The 'control' type powers for Fire Control are found in the Pyre Mastery epic; but Blazing Aura and Burn from Fire Armor give some of the same feel as Hot Feet.
The Ice epic gives access to Ice Storm, which would give a power that looks similar to Freezing Rain from Storm.
And, assuming that you want to take the Earth Mastery epic for your controller, then Stone Armor would give the same look as the epic armor.
Also, the crystal version of Stone Melee can sub in for Ice Melee very easily.
I could see almost any combination of the powersets working well for your elementalist.

If you would consider electricity as an element:
Ice/Elm/Earth Mastery
Elec Armor/Fire/ with Arctic or Earth Mastery
Fiery Aura/Elm/ Arctic or Earth Mastery
Stone/Elm/Pyre or Ice Mastery
etc.

Im basically wanting to try a melee version of my concept since im testing wich AT would fit better.( i dont realy wanna play a blaster, the other blueside ATs can't really fit easliy) srry to keep making topics about this :S |
Next you have to decide what sets you can stand and which ones you dont like, which will pair it down to fewer choices. For instance, I am not a fan of the Ice Armor looks, so I cannot imagine myself playing an Ice Tanker. By the same logic, I also dont like stone Mallets, so I would avoid Stone Melee as well. But these are my preferences, which likely are not the same as yours.
Maybe you could write down all the combinations and thru a process of eliminations, take away the combinations you would be less interested in graphically. That should get your list down to a more manageable group. Then play each of the combinations you are curious about up to at least level 12 (level 22 would be better) and see what you find.
Sometimes combinations that you dont realize are fun for you can be discovered this way.
P.S. I did something very much like this not too long ago with controllers. In the end, I could not reach a conclusion for the best choice, simply because I dont like pets. So instead, my arsenal of toons is growing as I search for 4 toons (1 for each element). Currently my Willpower-Fire-Fire Tanker is a bubble away from 41 and he is a blast to play. I am still exploring the other elements, but Tankers really do offer some good choices for elemental concepts.

well see i wasnt sure which AT would deal more dmg and i also am not fond of ice armor
Im basically looking for a good mix of dmg and utility.
In that case, I would recommend Fire/Stone/Stone, using the crystal power customization to make Stone Melee substitute for your ice powers. You'll do pretty solid damage that way.
Likewise, Fire/Stone/Ice will do a fair bit of damage as well.

For example, one of my Tanker builds that I play with an eye towards Stone, used his costume and the Stone graphics available there. Using a costume change emote you can switch costumes and turn into a "Stone Thing". That enables you to take just about any of the lower-key primaries like "Willpower" or "Invulnerability" and call it your "Earth" concept.
For Damage, my favorite is Fire Melee. But you could also take Super Strength and call that your "Earth" set. The blows are very powerful and footstomp is just plain awesome and certainly evokes the "earth's power". Not to mention Hurl Boulder, if that's not earth, I dont know what is.
Also, dont forget color customization AND Auras.
Alot can be done with this to assist in your concept.
My Willpower-Fire-Fire Tanker has the Willpower toggles set up with a nice flame orange look to help evoke the complete fiery theme and uses a flaming Aura on his eyes, head and hands. I could have gone Fire-Fire-Fire, but Fiery Aura is just a tad too squishy for my tastes, and I am not a big fan of click powers on melee characters unless they are attacks.

ok after a bit of testing i have narrowed it down to:
fire/stone/arctic, stone/fire/arctic, and fire/storm/stone (troller)
ppl have told me fire armor is weak and that ice melee sucks ****. while i like all the AOE of fire/storm i feel like im missing that slight burst damage i need to solo at low lvs.
thx everyone for your input

The first one seems more of a solid single target choice, but I am not an expert. Seismic Smash at 38 looks like it would be well worth the wait for AoE damage. Fiery Aura can be a little squishy at first, but there are ways to toughen it up (+hps, tough, weave etc...), but you cannot go wrong with a set that can replenish both the "green" and "blue" bars on fairly short timers.
Your second choice is a good overall choice with AoE and Single target damage, but lacks control. With my WP/Fire I took Air Superiority to get a small bit of control, and then Char at 41.
The final choice is going to do very well once you get into the mid-late 30s, but will be really heavy on endurance usage. Just one more reason I went with a Tank for an Elemental concept over a Controller.
Good Luck

If you want to tank then unquestionably the Stone/Fire is the best choice... once it matures it's practically unkillable and has really good AOE damage output (for a tank), I have a Stone/Fire at 50 myself and it's extremely competent at tanking. Remember the mobility penalties attached to Stone Armor though, and the damage and recharge penalty in Granite... it's not for everyone. Some love the set and some just get frustrated with the lack of mobility and being forced into TP for a travel.
Fire Armor really is one of the weakest tanker primaries... that said there are ways to compensate for it and create a capable character. Fire Armor's a set I haven't played in years and only into the mid-30's then so I'll let others tell you about it. Stone Melee is a very good, very hard hitting set with a lot of control built in... it's very single target focused though since the only AOE's are either low damage (with AOE knockdown) or no damage (with AOE knockdown and stun). I HIGHLY recommend taking both of the AOE attacks though, and as soon as you can; they help immensely in survivability and aggro management. You can build a capable tanker with this combination; you'll just be less durable than the Stone/Fire. On the other hand you won't have the mobility issues either.
If you're looking for mass carnage then the Fire/Storm 'troller is a good choice with a lot of damage output. I haven't played that combination but I do have a 50 Fire/Rad 'troller and a 43 Plant/Storm so I'm reasonably familiar with the sets. It will kill much faster than the tankers but it's FAR less durable; truthfully there's not a real meaningful way to compare them they're so totally different.

ok ive finally decided on fire/stone/arctic
whil stone/fire is nice it feels slow and i feel granite is gonna crimple my dmg
does anyone have a leveling build up to when i should be using IO's( lv 35 i assume)
i may take ss as a travel power
ps: after doing a lil customizing i have grown to not hate ice armor , ijs
