Windows 7
Been using Windows 7 with CoH since Windows 7 was in Beta. No problems here. Just don't set it to use Compatibility Mode, that usually causes problems. Set it to run as Administrator and you are good to go.
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.
Black Pebble is my new hero.
No issues here, I've been running 64 bit Win7 for the last week or so and while I've had some issues with a few of my older programs CoH, Herostats, Mids, Skype & Vent all work just fine.
CoH runs MUCH better now, although how much of that is a fresh install (the old XP install was about 3 years and a motherboard swap old) and how much is the new 80GB SSD drive I installed the OS and CoH on is a good question.
Zone load times have been in the 8-12 second range since the reinstall and it takes less than 20 seconds to launch CoH and get to the login screen.
I didn't do anything special in installing either; since I'm the only user I always run an administrator account and didn't have to mess with any settings... just install CoH, launch the updater (I know, I could've bypassed the need to update but it was late and I just figured the thing could take care of itself while I went to bed) and it ran fine.
COH has just been murdered by NCSoft. http://www.change.org/petitions/ncso...city-of-heroes
Awesome. no pun Thanks for the feedback. I will be buying new HD and win7 in the next few weeks.
Thanks

Been running Win7 64-bit and CoH on my new compy since about the end of Feb. Only issue I had was related to the UAC. Once I disabled that, It's been smooth sailing.

Biggest Troll on the forums? I'll give you a hint:

Running Win7 64-bit now, had Vista on my laptop. Never had an issue running CoH on either of them.
Only problem I've had with Windows 7 was the "fullscreen CoH won't take focus and hide the taskbar" issue. Works for me if I make sure I have no maximised windows on other programs before running CoH (though I don't know how many others have this problem).
Then again, I never really had any issues with CoH on my other computers, whether my Vista laptop or either OS on my previous XP/OpenSUSE desktop.

(as I just posted in another thread.)
An annoying issue with Win7 and Aero (which gives you the little preview window of open applications/windows) becoming disabled.
If you rt-click on your task bar and Aero is greyed out, then got to the Properties for your desktop, and for Customizing, select one of the default Windows themes, this should re-enable Aero.
I am planning to buy a new harddrive and I figure that buying windows 7 wouldn't be a bad idea.
however, I want to be absolutely sure there won't be any issues with coh vs windows 7
I know there were tons of issues with vista.
So, any feedback on window 7 and city of?
