Any preference on vet pets?

I was just wondering if anyone had any preferences to express, or insights into how to use, the vet pets you get at 48 months. They give shield or power buffs.

Any thoughts on them?

(I imagine there must be a thread on this somewhere, but I didn't find it.)

I find that I take the blue one (Defense and End Recovery) over the Red one (Damage and Resistance) most of the time, unless I have a character with no Defense. If the character has Resistance-based shields or is mainly Damage oriented with no significant Defense, then I go Red.

The darned thing gets killed off a LOT, though, so it really doesn't make that big a difference. On a character near Soft-capped Defenses, the Blue one can add some extra defense for as long as it lasts.

LOCAL MAN! The most famous hero of all. There are more newspaper stories about me than anyone else. "Local Man wins Medal of Honor." "Local Man opens Animal Shelter." "Local Man Charged with..." (Um, forget about that one.)

Honestly, the buff is so small that I generally try to match costumes (both the theme and the color) when choosing the pets.

I suppose if I do have a preference, I generally pick the "defense" one for squishies.

I always take the Blue Wisp. It's especially nice on new characters. Any additional +recov is great.

Late Edit: wow. I didn't even notice this double post from my earlier edit.

Yeah, they're fragile enough that they don't provide a permanent buff or even close (which is appropriate, I think, so that they're not depriving newcomers of something really good for 48 months).

I usually go with whichever matches my character's focus on defense or resistance.

There are a few situations where they're handy -- sometimes you can stick them around a corner and let them eat the alpha. Also, characters with a Taunt aura can sometimes keep the pet alive a lot longer unless the enemies are using AoEs.

I took the red wisp one on my Grav/TA just so, along with the Magical Juggle emote, I could pretend I had a whole family of Singularities.*

I took the red once for a tank cause I knew he'd need the help but mostly I take blue.
I swear the foes go out of their way to target them lol. I generally call the blue just after a battle to help re-fill the blue bar, frankly the red is useless cause at the time you need it it gets it.

I always get the Red one, then bubble it.

Also, it makes a pretty decent cannon fodder when bubbled!
