I thought about that and the TP'ing into banks as well, then decided that TP Foe would be a better villianous power. (Or heroic if you count TP'ing hostages out of a standoff or TPing robbers directly into an armored paddy wagon.)
Personally, I'd ask for super strength and invulnerability. Invulnerability so I no longer have to worry about getting injured, getting sick or getting mugged, and possibly so I can toss myself off the roofs of buildings for giggles. Super Strength so I'm no longer such a wimp.

I still think Mark Grunewald (and JMS' subsequent reimagining) had it about right and I seriously think that could well be the inspiration for Praetoria.

in real life there would be no such thing as super man's shining example of the selfless hero. the closest thing you could get would be a batman style anti-hero. to be totally realistic, i think it's unlikely you would see much of a polarization between super heroes and super villains at all. in reality, a person with a "lawful good" alignment is so rare, in much the same way as people with "chaotic evil" are not very common. most people are in the middle, and would most likely try and find a productive way to use their powers for some practical purpose to feed themselves and make a good life for their loved ones or possibly try and hide their powers and either not use them at all, or use them very discretely to avoid drawing attention to themselves. those who can not hide their powers due to physical abnormalities would probably have to live in hiding.

the truth is that regular humans, the media, governments, etc. all have something to lose by accepting the major paradigm shift that would come from integrating super powered beings into society. countless groups would have interest in reverse-engineering super powers and that could become an all consuming industry in and of itself...

So, as my posts from all those months ago said: We would get treated like heroes in Marvel do. The Marvel populace is distrusting, hates supers because of the damage they cause, they hate mutants because they are jealous of their powers and fear being replaced(as Magneto once pointed out), and many other reasons.

DC Hero treatment wouldn't last long in the real world. Just like celebrities and professional athletes.....you can be very well liked, but if you screw up, even just once......
