Your best bet for pure AOE would be ss/shield/mu. It will either take a fortune to get your blue bar under control or liberal use of blue inspirations (granted in solo farming inspirations are as plentiful as air).

Scrappers do not have SS which is why they list fire. Rage, Footstomp, AAO, Ball Lighting, Elec Fences and throw in a shield rush now and then. Makes for some pretty crazy damage numbers once you get some decent recharge. Just have to watch out for large groups of nems. Stacking veng tears through def based builds.
I am just wondering if fire/shield would be the most damage for single and aoe a brute can get? I was looking on the scrapper forums and it shows fire brute is way on top of other primaries for damage since the fire dots go up with fury. I also assume fire is not as resisted as lethal/smashing? I am looking to make a big time damage dealer, but the lack of a heal of any kind always bothers me. I know I can get aid self, but timing it will be annoying lol.
