I need to blow off some steam (MA changes).
I have the utmost sympathy.
All I'd suggest is go do something else to recharge, and... MA is something nearly unique in MMOs (and the only other example I know of is apparently even buggier).
I feel your pain, though I'm not quite sure what could be causing it sorry. Maybe just take another look at the settings and fixing any faulty ones you find.
As for trying to get people to try out your arc, I'd recommend checking out the other MA forum. There are usually helpful people there who will review or critique your arc, as well as MA contests to submit and get plays in.

Ugh, totally agree. A complete wipe with a required republish would probably not be a bad thing. There's so much leftover 'junk' from previous iterations that it's frustrating even finding an arc that A) sounds interesting (and is not a farm) B) still works and C) gives XP under the current system.

That would tick off A LOT of people who managed to get those hard-earned ratings.

Well, maybe they could do a system where you have to manually go in and press "re-publish" in order for the arc to appear on the list but it still keeps the rating?

This last patch made a change to MA scripts that, so far as I can tell, lengthened each one of my arcs by roughly a percentage point. Which, since I'd filled my arcs to the brim, means they are now uneditable, unrepublishable ... unless I start removing custom NPCs. Which, as you probably know, is often not easily done, in that it requires changing all kinds of things here and there, and maybe a significant re-write of the story.
I'd rather see the AE have a filter that automatically excludes arcs that have not been played or edited in the last 3 months. I'm not sure to what degree that would cut the cruft in AE, but it might help focus AE on what players are actually using and supporting.
I could get behind something like that.
Also,if they allowed more search options or the ability to exclude a word from a search, that would make it much, much easier to find current arcs.

I spent weeks working on my first MA arc. I poured hours upon hours into the story, countless nights into perfecting the custom enemies, ran through the entire thing dozens of times to make certain that it was as good as it could be... I even went so far as to beg for help testing it so I'd know what it was doing for teams and fix the problems that arose in those situations... and the damn thing's busted again.
One of my custom bosses on the second map had its companion replaced with a Protean named "PCCInvalidCritterReplacement". The entire custom group I set up for the third map fails to spawn, instead populating the map with clones of the custom boss. And the EB for the final fight on the last map is now cloning itself again, after I resolved that particular problem at least three times.
I'm tired of cleaning up the mess left behind when changes are made to the AE system. I'm not even sure there's a point to it any more. The MA is so oversaturated with arcs that practically no-one plays mine, so the only real reason I have to keep plugging away at it is for myself... and frankly, havng to go back and fix it frequently before I can enjoy it is sucking all of the fun out of it.
