Super Jump effects

I've seen people mention a ground crack effect when a huge character lands and everything. Even if they do it, it doesn't have to last or stay that long. Still would be awesome. Along with that maybe even an effect for a ice themed character or fire themed character when they land from a super jump. On our current engine would this stuff really be that hard to do? I'm just wondering

It would be a nice graphical addition to give Super-Jump some force-impacts when you land. It was already a bit strange that you seem to just float up into the sky as you leap as naturally you would rocket upwards quickly at the start of a leap and slow back down as you lose upward force. Landing just seemed a little light after falling 200ft from the sky.

Even something as small as adding ground cracking on every high landing will make it seem like you are either really heavy or strong enough to drop from a building and hurt the ground instead of yourself.

I think some falling animations would be nice. Probably won't happen, but I mean if you jump off something and fall from a bit to high you land down on one knee with your hand on the ground to catch yourself.

That might only work if you stopped dead still on the final landing, the character leaping cross-town spends only a fraction of a second on the ground, it would have to be a very brief.

True. Yeah that's what I was thinkin. It just would seem to help with the whole lightness seem of the jump. I feel like my character is jumping from his tip toes half the time.
