Decided to show the process of a drawing. Here is step 1.

This is pretty much how I start any drawing. Really rough. I flesh it out a bit more in photoshop then print it out. Then I light box it! Step 2 next.

Considering the characters distance with regards to the background (and the viewer,) I'm not sure if it's necessary.

Edit: Though I guess it does depend on what style you will be fleshing this out into as you progress.
