Corrupt Pigg file
Try this...go to your CoH folder and delete the checksum file.
Then go to your desktop and start CoH. The checsum file will rebuild itself so all corrupted files will be deleted. Hope that helps!

I'd also delete ./piggs/soundV1.pigg since it's corrupted. It will be d/l'd again.

Will try those.
Any idea why the computer would freeze up right as the patcher is "trying to fix" the corrupted file? Left it on for about 2 hours hoping it was just working really really really hard, but to no avail.
Also, any idea why the current (and I mean current) Test wouldn't have the same files already in it as well? Or maybe it's too current? *shrug*

Going to try to summarize best I can:
Currently running into a problem with a corrupt sound file from the game's piggs. I get a pop up window and the game crashes when I try to log into a character that is currently on the mountain in CaD. This is the only character having this issue because of the area she's in is trying to play a sound file. I have other characters in CaD without this issue, but I'm not willing to try to get them in the same area to see if the crash happens. Only this one character is unplayable at the moment. I have a screen shot of the pop up, but currently unable to upload the picture.
The pop up reads:
Fatal error
./piggs/soundV1.pigg: Corrupt pig file detected. Read failed for file :sound/Ogg/V_Cap/MountDiable.ogg
your data may be corrupted, please run the patcher and try again.
Verifying files runs through the process, says it downloads the file manifest, and then says it is trying to fix the stated file....except the computer has frozen up every time now. I can see where this file is through PiggViewer; I've looked in my CoX Test directory, but the same file is not there? I was hoping to just copy from Test into Live, but obviously can't unless it's in a different location. So my question/hope now is, can someone upload this particular file for me so I can put it in it's proper place? I've not touched Pigg files in probably 4 years, and have never had this issue; it cropped up last Tuesday and I forgot about it/hadn't logged into that particular character again until today.
If not, I will attempt to see what Support can do for me I guess. I just figured that would take longer than necessary. Thanks in advance.
update: as a workaround, for now, I've placed a blank .ogg file I've used before to silence various other sounds. It has worked, allowing me to log onto this affected character completely and move her. I'd still really like the original file if at all possible.
