Windows 7(64-bit) and CoH

I just had Windows 7(64 bit) added to my computer, which of course is amazing.

My only problem is CoH. I load up the login screen(which is unusually bright). I also notice that my character screen looks like the graphics are on the lowest setting, even when I have my graphics on the 'recommended' setting.

Another problem is that whenever I try to up my graphics, my whole screen just becomes white, like as if you were gradually looking right into the sun. And whenever I lower my graphics nothing changes whatsoever.

I'm currently running two NVIDIA Geforce 7950 GX2s. Which ran well whenever I had XP. I'm also running 4 gigs of RAM

Can anybody help?

(P.s. other games like TF2/Counter-Strike run perfectly)
P.s.s. if any other info is required, don't be afraid to ask

I had issue with Windows 7 64 bit too.....found I had to update the drivers on my NVdia card and also can only run in window mode not full screen.

Don't know if this helps but worked for me

Any help works for me, I'd still like to figure out how to run in full. I feel like I downgraded when I bought this! Lol

I have had no problems with Win 7 64 and CoH. I have an Nvidia 8800gt running 196.21 drivers. I'm guessing updating your drivers didn't help.

There's a program someone wrote called 'CoHelper' (I think). post the results and I'm sure someone can provide more advice.

The same thing happened (as far as brightness) until I loaded the drivers from nVidia instead of using the ones with Windows. Grab your most up to date drivers and install them - don't rely on what came with Windows Update. (Oh, read the note on the nvidia drivers - make sure you're grabbing the ones noted, as the newest ones (which got rolled back) have issues - I *believe* they've been pulled from nvidia's site anyway.) The "blown out look until you download drivers" has held true for me in both XP and Win7 for - oh, at least five video cards now.

And no, you don't have to run in windowed mode. Running on two Win7 systems here, one with nVidia, one with ATI, both fullscreen.

Just mentioning that updating to the latest nvidia drivers definitely helps. I just came back after a break and hadn't updated my drivers in a while. Colors were off. Put the latest on and everything is great.

Not sure if you've got it licked or not, but you may want to try "single display performance mode" in the nvidia driver, and choosing "windowed" resolution in the CoX client to see if anything changes.

It could be your drivers indeed. I've heard there were some issues with them that caused games to act up. I have a friend who got into CO (boo!) with a new rig and a 295 and had a similar-esque problem. Though in his case it made all the grapics kinda color inverted. Not exactly like a photo negative but close. He had to roll back to older drivers for awhile to fix it.

It is known that there are an infinite number of worlds, simply because there is an infinite amount of space for them to be in. However, not every one of them is inhabited. Therefore, there must be a finite number of inhabited worlds. Any finite number divided by infinity is as near to nothing as makes no odds, so the average population of all the planets in the Universe can be said to be zero. From this it follows that the population of the whole Universe is also zero, and that any people you may meet from time to time are merely the products of a deranged imagination.
