Broken Graphics.

Hi!
So uhm. I just came back from a long break from CoH. (If you call about three/four months.. Y'know. Long). And I'm giving the reactivation a run for it's money, see if I enjoy the game again, or not.

ANYWAY. POINT IS. I came back with Windows7 installed, insted of Vista. And now.. My graphics seem to be going wonky.
Like; Trees are freakishly bright, and the colour on anyone's outfit keeps flipping colours around like it's disco night.

Alot of my options won't even allow me to change them anymore, in the Advanced options, and if I use the slider bar for how good everything is, the whole zone just becomes totally white on my screen.

It's not a graphics card issue, as I've handled the game at max settings during Vista. Only difference now is Windows7.

Is this an issue for anyone else, and is there anyway I can fix this?

Any help would be super pro, and you'll be awarded one(1) super cool point.

It may not be an issue with your card, but have you checked to make sure your Drivers are up to date? That's the most likely culprit to me.

Aye. Just double checked 'em, as I did a total upgrade on the computer last week while updating to Windows7. New Ram, etc.

I know on my newish card [9600 GSO] the drivers I was told to download were from Microsoft and not from Nvidia.

However, from some reason the sinister shoulders float 8 inches behind my female toon. That said, I asked a fellow in outbreak if he saw it this way and he did, so I dunno. I didn't have this problem with my mb graphics card, but that did horrible things with water reflections.

This sounds like typical GPU heat-death. Make sure you've blown out all the dust and stuff, make sure all your fans are spinning, etc.

Note that graphics cards fail over time, so being able to run CoX under Vista three to four months ago doesn't mean much.

well, actually with as much as it pops up in the Tech issues section, i think that windows7 is the culprit, but there are work arounds for it. they should be posted in the tech section here. and make sure you got your drivers for your video card from the actual chipset manufacturer, either Nvidia or ATI. although for some reason i think you have to get the drivers for an ATI chipset from the AMD site.

Because ATI was purchased by AMD.

OP, did you install Win7 on top of Vista or did you freshly format the drive?

I have never nor will never trust any "upgrade" by Microsoft. It's clean installs or nothing due to consistently freaky behavior afterwards.

Be well, people of CoH.

When was this? I know those shoulders had been doing that for a while but the DP patch seemed to fix it, at least for me.
