More Chained missions in arcs
Because chained missions can get very annoying. They are also impossible to 'drop'. Try dropping the Doc Buzzsaw arc where you have to get four pieces for her. Thats FOUR missions that are all the same level, and chained.
I've outleveled that mission at the moment, so I dropped part of it. Lo and behold, I get the next part; at the same damn level. I really have no inclination to play through the low level stuff. So it's just going to sit there.

Chained missions work well in moderation. I think they are best when combined with a hunt mission--since you hit the street and got some info, you are immediately following it up.

This would be a good addition. We have some of these (I just did one on my new level 5 FF/Dual Defender in AP) adn they make sense thematically.

But chaining them otherwise can be quite annoying, as with the Doc Buzzsaw set of missions mentioned by T_A. Especially in the lower levels where you could easily outlevel parts of the chain just by playing thru them. Doc Buzzsaw is a chain you hit in your 20s, and depending on things like difficulty settings, I could see someone levelling a time or two while playing thru it (although I have never had that happen to a character of mine because I mainly solo on normal settings). Throw in a few missions elsewhere for whatever reason (joining a team for a bit perhaps) and it becomes even more easy to do unwittingly.
Eliminating the irritating "take this to Crimson", "no, take it back to Indigo" missions would be greeted with great shouts of joy, so perhaps adding a few at higher levels would be an interesting change.

in some arcs, missions lead from one to another without talkin to the contact (i.e. the tina mission where you get a mission on a te minute timer after completing another one). why isn't this done more to give more of a feeling of autonomy?
even if oter ideas of mine like open missions and random missions, I'd like to see chained missions more in any future content, and maybe worked into previous content. tis gives more of a feeling that you're making decisions for yourself, and putting two and two together. when you find the mailing address in a warehouse to where Nemesis shipped is new super weapon, do you really need to go back to Max Christopher and ask him is it's ok to go? HE ISN'T YOUR COMMANDING OFFICER, you're a superhero who HE alerted about something dangerous in the works.
the contact system can be compared to Batman's deal with commissioner Gordon, but what we get is the impression that our "Batmen" (batmans?) wouldn't sit in a puddle if our tights were on fire without a thumbs up from some police officer who strangely neve does police work (I'm looking at YOU, officer hasn't-moved-in-5-years Wincott. and every police scanner contact)
thoughts? ideas?
