... "These go to eleven."

You won't convince Nigel otherwise.

Hmm. Does that make Local_Man the Rob Reiner of Controllers?

High praise, indeed.

I agree with the others who have said how much fun Earth/Storm is. Mine, (MotherNature ) is level 39 now, first char of her sort for me, but right off the bat she was so much fun to play, the lower levels were really enjoyable, and now that I have her slotted for set bonuses, she just destroys , it is a visually pleasant combo and she is STILL so much fun to play, I love her pet stoney and she's great soloing or on a team, haven't pvp'd with her tho. Have Fun!

The biggest part of /storm not being team friendly is Hurricane and Earth/storm has enough control to where it can be skipped. Tornado has KB issues, but Earth has the tools to not make it such a burden. Is Earth/rad more team friendly? Sure. But I play for fun.

Since I got my TA/a up to 29, I'll just add a vote for /ta as well. It's one of the most under valued sets around. I can't wait to start to IO out the build even on a cheap basic level and I just about school girl squeal at the idea of leveling up my lowbie Plant/ta.

On a side related note........played with an leveled up my earth/earth dom to 28 this weekend. Wow! Loving it. It's a fun, active little "pop in and out of melee" build.

I'm having fun with my Earth/Storms -- one at 36 on Guardian and at 42 on another server-that-shall-not-be-named. It is a very fun combo. I didn't skip Hurricane -- I love it as a tool. I skipped Stone Prison, Salt Crystals and, reluctantly, Snow Storm. Yeah, the -knockback in Stone Cages can keep Tornado from throwing foes everywhere . . . until it misses or until you don't quite fire it off in less than 12 seconds because you are doing something else.

So, does that mean that I'm a Meathead? Probably fits . . .

I wont ask you to name it but I will ask you to say why it shall not be named. Just curious.

Just because you can miss one guy out of a group, making the Tornado+Cages combo only 95% perfect, that doesn't make Stone Cages a poor choice. I personally love Stone Cages. You probably have your build slotted up with some single target action instead, I'm guessing? My build has everything except single target damage. My single target damage is handled by Tornado, Fossilize, Lightning Storm, Blackwand, Animate Stone and Fireball.

I may have posted it before but this is now my build on live after a recent respec:

I guess that depends on whether you are in a skinny idealistic phase or not.

I actually have a few characters on Free-dumb for when my usual buddies aren't on and I'm willing to go with the rather-inconsistent PUGs there over playing solo.

Nope, I go for the AoE control mostly. I use the same stuff as you for single target damage, except I have the Ice APP, Sands of Mu and the Nemi Staff, too. I'm a big fan of Stone Cages, too -- love having it hit on big targets. When I try the Stone Cages + Tornado trick, I find that I will often get so busy doing other stuff that I don't fire off Stone Cages again fast enough and some of the foes go flying around. I don't mind too much, as it just means the scrappers have to chase around their targets a bit . . . a little extra exercise is good for them.

Earth/Cold for the ultimate support! Great buffs, and incredible debuffs make it a team favorite. Currently working on a PvP build for my Earth/Cold troller. Like some trollers, it doesn't really blossom damage-wise until later levels. Pair it with the Stone epic and you will be fighting in the middle of mobs and stealing kill shots from your Poo-Man!

Have fun.
