Will do so as I get time. Going to work my way up. Got Romulus to 50%, non nictus version.

Posted

iirc Requiem isn't too tough to solo, he was the first AV my kat/regen solo'd.

Posted

Except I don't have a self-heal, or super regen. XD

Posted

You don't have siphon life? =o On my DM/SD I could go from red health zone to full health from siphon lifing without problems lol.

Posted

Hm. Thats a good point. But I only have 100% Recharge, and Siphon doesnt have red to full health effects yet...maybe not even for good.

Posted

You misunderstand, I use multiple siphon lifes lol. The defense from SD tends to cover it and it's a part of my attack chain anyway :P

Not deffinate on the % of my one's recharge but it's deffinately less than 100%, I'd guess around 50-65%.

Congratulations ShadowWings! Now, I have a question regarding the soloing of AVs. When people post lists of the AVs they've soloed, they tend to name late game AVs. I have a level 40 Kat/Regen that is designed for AV soloing and I have already defeated several. However, I tend to Merit hunt in Ouroboros so they have been the ones found much earlier in the game. Are these AVs easier than the late game variety? I suppose it would be useful to name them: Kurse, Nocturne, Arbiter Sands, Captain Castillo, Doctor Vahzilok, and Maestro.

I've not soloed any of the Faultline arc AVs myself so I can't comment on them. However, a lot of late-game AV soloing fodder tends to be the Praetorian AVs which are generally quite easy with the exception of Malaise (nonpositional Psi) and Antimatter (who is much closer to his Freedom Phalanx counterpart in terms of power).

I will tommorow, Santy.

And I will continue my attempts of solo'ing AVs tommorow .

I don't try AVs on the way up, and almost never exemplar, so I'm not sure how they compare. But I did hit an AV while exemplared recently on my Katana/Dark. I think I used inspirations, but it was quite simple, even though I'd lost almost all of my set bonuses. It's just one tiny data point, but wildy extrapolating from there, I'd say the low level AVs are easier.

And grats, ShadowWings.

Thanks guys. I'll be trying Requiem, Romulus, and a few Praetorians today as it goes along. Will be rough but fun.

Big congrats, ShadowWings!

Here are a few suggestions on your build:

Try to get to 45% defense to all positions, it will increase your survivability by a lot.

Try to increase your recovery and recharge

Slot Siphon Life as an attack.

Taking the advice of Santy.

And btw, Chimera, Romulus, and Requiem also all died to my current build. Rough but fun.

That's good advice to take.

I have to say, that's a helluva build Santorica put up. The only thing I'd even suggest to change is a flavor change: Drop the Absolute Amazements, pull a slot from Boxing, swap out Grant Cover for Superleap and two-slot Superleap with Blessing of the Zephyr.

You trade a bit of recharge and recovery for soft-capped ranged defense. You gain some mobility, your combat end drain looks better, but you're also less team-friendly.

Taking out the two purples means that you could in theory build this for near-zero influence: Merits and tickets can get you pretty much everything you would need, given enough time in-game.

Which way you go is entirely optional.

Also, Against All Odds at 49? Hmmmm.....

Dang, that's a tight build. Nice stuff.

Crap, now I got to make ANOTHER alt. Curses!

Posted

But...if you get rid of Grant Cover you'll lose DDR and not having 95% DDR leads to horrible casading defense failure and then you die.

Here is my reasoning for taking AAo so late in the build. 1 you don't have the defenses and hp to handle all that wonderful aggro and 2 AAo loves endurance and you'll want to use your endurance for killing stuff and running more important toggles.

I've found on my shield scrap that AAO actually increases my survivability by increasing the rate at which I kill stuff. By decreasing the time in which I'm at risk for any particular fight, it actually serves to keep me alive by having me kill things faster. Of course, this is assuming you're not trapped in scrapperlock wherein the entire point is that you're fighting the entire time and increasing kill speed just means you're running into another group faster.

AAO is actually pretty cheap at .21 end/sec (.208 end/sec actually, but the in game numbers round up), so endurance costs shouldn't really be an issue, especially since the only thing you can slot it with is end redux. With just a single SO, AAO is still going to be cheaper (.158 end/sec) than Tough or Weave slotted with 2 end redux (.196 end/sec).
