Odd/Annoying Taskforce bug.

I've been experiencing a very odd bug since the beginning of last week. If a player happens to logout (without quitting) or even quits before everyone has finished zoning, the game seems to glitch and will pass lead to the next person in line even though the original leader never left. In the example below right before we finished the first or second mission in the Sister Psyche TF the 6th member logged off (not shown). We completed the mission and all exited, MysticFlames ran back to Sister Psyche to set up the next mission only to be told "I need to talk to your leader". We soon discovered that Devout Echo had been flagged as the new lead even though the star never changed hands.

Each time a mission would complete and Devout would call it in, MysticFlames' name would jump back to the top of the window, but as soon as the next mission was set Devout's name would jump to the top. Everything straighten it self out, when the one who logged off came back online and rejoined the TF. Very strange behavior indeed.

Incase I need proof that it was infact a Sister Psyche TF, here's this -

So far I'd experienced this odd behavior on Manticore, Synapse, and the Imperious TF. When it happened again tonight on the Sister Psyche which I wasn't leading, I felt I needed to document and report it.

This has actually been around far beyond last week.. and even well before the Winter event. It used to even be in the /GMOTD (which is now blank).

Leadership in a TF my change due to somebody logging off or DC'ing, and the TF may repeat missions, ask to talk to the wrong member of the team, or even stop working altogether, requiring a restart or GM involvement. This can happen based on who may or may not have had the star passed to them prior to starting the TF.

The only workaround I know if is to have 1 single person invite everybody to the team and start the TF without ever passing the star, and that person not DC or logout. You are pretty much guaranteed not to have the problem then. lol

Interesting that I'd 'never' experienced it until just recently. Infact I hadn't even heard about it being in the /gmotd which explains why I posted it here. Strange.

It's not a big deal. It was easy to miss, and it was removed from the /gmotd when the Winter Event stuff was advertised.

I haven't personally encountered the issue myself, but a friend of mine experienced it on her team on one of our Monday night events. I think it was when we led a 2-team Eden event in October. She was not the correct level to start the TF, so she passed the star. The other person started the TF, but could not talk to the Woodsman to start the door mission after the zone hunt. My friend (who no longer had the star) was still able to talk to him though. I believe they ran into the problem one other time on a Respec Trial when somebody DC'd as well.

On a side note, we ran a Sister Psyche just last Monday, a couple people DC'd at various points throughout the TF, but we didn't have any issues.

I certainly hope this gets fixed, we do between 5-10 tf's a week and this can be rather annoying.

It's possible this is a variation on the glitch i've seen, But I've seen it dozens of times but only when someone "quits". Personally, I've never seen it on a disconnect/logoff.

To anyone who does not know the work around...

When you complete a mission and see the same mission at the same door come up, you'll know your tf has the glitch.

Assuming the original leader wasn't the person to quit, the person directly below him on the list can most often visit the contact and the tf will erase that duplicated mission, (assuming no one is inside the mission), and it will automatically change to the next mission in the tf. If that works that person will have to continue visiting the contact for the remainder of the tf but youll be fine.

If that does not work, you can try having the leader log off and when the star passes leadership, the new leader can try to talk to the contact again and see if that will get you through. I've only seen this work once.

If the above two options fail, your best bet is to send in a support request and wait it out until a GM is able to work their magic.
