Error when updating Mids....
Have you tried grabbing a new copy of the program off their website?
We'll see....
Mine has been doing the same thing for quite some time. I'd suggest going to the website and just re-downloading the updated setup instead. The only reason I haven't bothered to do it myself yet is cause I barely use it, and the stuff I usually look up was for old powersets using enhancements that have not changed.. so basically.. I'm just being lazy.
But now that I don't have anything better to do at the moment. I think I'll do it now and let you know how it goes. lol
Edit:
Yeah that was quick and painless.
Just go to http://www.cohplanner.com/ and download the latest version directly.
OK, thanks, Master-Blade and Flameshot, that did the trick.

Make sure you go to the Titan forums for Mids and grab the latest download update (put out mid last week). It won't auto download from the Mids internal updater (that is not functional yet due to coding issues). A bunch of little tweaks were made.

Yeah I had the same problem when I tried the auto update. It totally fried the program and I had to reinstall it.
Had this as well since I had the update fail about a year ago.
Error message on trying to load but click OK and it carries on to load up the character. I suppect its something to do with checking or downloading updates thats throwing it. The program itself seems to work fine once it starts.

When I launch Mid's Hero Designer, I get a notice saying I need to update.
I select "Yes" to "Download and Install this update now?" and while it is updating I get an error message saying
"Unhandled exception has occurred in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the application will close immediately."
If I click Continue, the same box keeps popping up. I copy/pasted the "Details" box below under Exception Text. At first glance, it seems Mids' Date and/or Time doesn't like me.
Mid's works fine if I launch without trying to update. (Well, "fine" except for being an issue or two out of date.)
Any suggestions?

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.
For example:
<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>
When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.
