I'd been on since the afternoon when it happened, I stayed on my main (even though I can't level him past 14 yet, he is my fave to play and I wanted some action) to wait for the next wave. It never came, I only saw around 5 minutes of 'Beings materialising'
In other words, either I was just plain 'lucky' and didn't see anymore or that was quite possibly the lamest invasion ever!
I say we build a ship and take it to 'em!
My guess is that they flipepd the invasion switch for a couple of minutes to check it was ready and working for a larger attack coming very shortly

As mereman said, heavies drop rate seems improved, with just 2 teams next to Miss Liberty they showed up more often than I remembered.
As for you PP, these aliens are called "Rikti"... once upon a time, like 2 years or so ago, there was an Issue called "Invasion", which was focused on them... from then on, green skies and dropships can be triggered by completing Lady Grey task force, which takes place in Rikti War Zone. There are 4 different badges: 1 for defeating a certain number of invader riktis, 1 for defeating a certain number of bombs before they explode, 1 for defeating a certain number of heavies, and an accolade for getting them all, which also grants you a temp power.
Next time just check your chat window (in case you upgrade your trial account and keep playing), you'll see a message saying that Rikti ships have been detected towards a map, then you go there, ready to fight them.

So last night I'm running around on a low level Defender I rolled up called SW177l-B0t with my pal in Atlas Park. We're RPing completely, no OOC chat at all.
He notices that the sky has gone a weird colour, I RP'd analysing atmospheric temperatures/fluxations, advise it's an unknown anomoly and we go about our business trekking to our next contact.
About a minute later, we hear a 'sherwossshfizzzlepop' and three dirty great big aliens materialise all around us. Now, Swizz is a full on support Defender, only base 2 attacks, (melee and mutagen) whilst my pal is playing a scrapper. So he gets stuck in, and gets killed after what seems like a blink of an eye.
I take one moment to think "Run!" And I do! I turn a corner, four more appear around me! "F****" Looking up in the sky, I see this......
OK then, looks like it's on! I decide to re-log as my forum namesake so I can get stuck in. Three minutes later, and the invasion is over, and I'm left standing on the sidewalk with my AR laying limply in my hand, primed for action that was over before it started!
Come on, what kind of part-time martians are these?
