Question Regarding Merit Rolls
for merit rolls, i do a random roll whenver have enough merits to do so, as for the lvl range of the roll, i pick whatever i feel like that day.
Values are very different for characters under level 50, as there's often very little supply (or in some cases even demand) for some recipes at non-max level, making things slow to move on the market and price data not exactly reliable. That being said, on my 50s I generally roll half-and-half in the 10-14 and 40-45 ranges. If I were rolling on a 30 I'd probably do half-and-half 10-14 and 30-35.
"One day we all may see each other elsewhere. In Tyria, in Azeroth. We may pass each other and never know it. And that's sad. But if nothing else, we'll still have Rhode Island."
i know the drops per lvl range vary some, but the cost of merits is static at 20, so whatever you decided to roll will be 20 merits. i know some people say the 35-39 range is good because you can get miracle drops in that range ad a majority of people like most any of the IOs in that range.
The ugly truth is, it's more cost-effective to wait till fifty and roll then, which produces max-level recipes, which sell for a lot more than "just under max". If you're not rolling in the 10-14 range, then rolling 35-39 is probably a lot better than 30-34. (I don't have statistics on any of this, partly because rolls are no longer EXACTLY even odds.) If you look at this page MOST of the stuff that is 10-30 or 15-30 is really bad. If you're not going to roll at 50, my guesses are that 33 or 35 are the best levels to roll at.
In a peripherally related point, I'm in the middle of an attempt to seed the market with under-fifty recipes, and so I'm willing to buy "whatever you roll" for 15 million inf per roll, any server either side. (I suspect the correct cash value is lower than that, but I haven't gotten any of the "Big 4" yet. Couple stealths, though, which sold in the high tens of millions. ) I'm @Boltcutter in game; send me a tell if you want a nonrandom return on your merits.

Greetings to the fine Marketeers of The Market & Inventions Forum!
Having read many of the threads on this forum, it seems clear to me that, statistically, the best return for one's Merits is to roll randomly in either the 30-34 range or the 35-39 range. Some have also suggested the 10-14 range. That being said, my question is as follows: What is the ideal amount of Merits to have before rolling?
Until now, I have saved Merits earned from Taskforces until levels 20, 25, and now 30. I would then roll those Merits in whatever of the above ranges that I had access to. Unfortunately, on this last roll, my return was rather disappointing. It occurred to me that I may not have had enough Merits to invest on that roll. The amount was 118. My goal is to acquire enough influence to outfit my character with some rather expensive IO's before reaching level 50. So far, I have been rather successful at this through marketeering. I seek any advice that you wise sages might offer to utilize all of my resources to their full potential.
