The term "dual-boxing" (not duel-boxing which is something completely different) comes from using two PCs to run one game at the same time.
While you can run two instances of City on one computer, it's tricky and you need a top-end computer to do it. Otherwise both instances of the game will have to be run in wndowed mode with low details. I think, some clarification from other players will be needed as Anasthesia and I have our own seperate computers for our accounts.
If you have one account, and get a second account on a trial, then upgrade it to a full account, you only get the 30 days on the second account.

So, OP, what are your system specs? If they meet or exceed what I listed, you should be fine.

I have a somewhat newer PC than Ironblade (just over a year old), and it's pretty nifty (I treated myself this time around 
). It has a quad processor, 8 gigs of RAM, and I run 64-bit Vista on it. I have two accounts myself and can run up to 4-5 separate game "instances" at once (also using other peoples' accounts, of course), although without changing settings, after 3 separate instances it gets progressively less playable.
So I agree with Ironblade, if you have anywhere near more PC than the game requires, you are probably okay to run two accounts simultaneously.

TY for the replies. i have 8 gigs,64 vista,8800 nvid , and a quad-core.
as far as getting started,i think i can figure out how to buy another account,even off the website w/o a box.
i thought i saw that if u referred a friend to get a new account u could score a free month but that was a while ago.
i guess i would then just bring up the updater after ive already logged in, and put in the new account name and password. then i could access that account.
would i be able to use 2 monitors?u dont have to tell me how, cuz i could probably find that out online and ill have to figure out my keybinds. i use a game pad so maybe i could key map the other account to a second gamepad.hmm.
but basically, i should just start by getting the second account and the rest should depend on how much research i wanna do to customize my settings,huh?
You can choose the "refer a friend" option from your plaync master account to refer yourself, then use the serial you get from that to add an account under your master account. Do not make a brand new master login for your second account, it isn't necessary.
After you activate that trial, you can go to the NC store and purchase the full version of the game, and apply the code to your new account. After that happens, you'll get a free month on your first account.

I DID IT!
i e-mailed a referral to myself,opened a trial account under my master account with the code that came from the nc soft email, then i upgraded the trial account, via the in- game link, got the good vs evil edition,and selected which account to put it to.
it cost 20 bucks, and i get a free month on the new account.if i pay 15 bucks after that my main account should be given a free months play.
can't wait to start house cleaning.

the only rough part was when i upgraded via the in-game link.it asked for my account and password, and i kept trying to put in the info for my new account, and it would'nt accept it.then i noticed the page was clearly headed "MASTER ACCOUNT INFORMATION". after i put in the master info then they gave me the option of which account to assign the code to.
ALRIGHT ,any computer illiterates out there, if i can do it so can you.

hi i want to start a second account to take care of supergroup business and inventory management.ive only got one pc running.
does anyone know how i should get started?
if i get a free account and upgrade it to a full account, can i get a free month of play time on both accounts?
if i have to full accounts, im sure ill end up using both toons together simultainiously, and i dont know how tha interface would work.
