Healing Uniques

Which AT and powerset specifically get the most out of having the 3 healing uniques slotted?

My first thought was either /regen or /willpower. But slotting an additional 35% regen to /regen seems kinda silly when you realize how much they already regen.

So my 2nd thought was something like /sr which has no regen. I could boost a lil bit of regen even higher.

But THAT got me thinkin about blasters/defenders/tanks etc.

Any word from the wise?

I wouldn't know about the most, but Invul gets a lot from it in my opinion. Reason being, you're going to have a lot of HP with DP (and more HP = more bang for your buck from regeneration), but not a whole lot of healing and no regeneration from your powerset.

So I'd say specifically an Invulnerability tanker.

You're correct there. When you're already recovering 50 hp/sec, it's kinda pointless to add an extra 3.

This is an excellent train of thought because of how damage mitigation (defense, resistance) and damage recovery (regen, heals) interact. The more mitigation you have, the more you functionally regenerate because that regeneration is acting upon a smaller amount of incoming damage. Furthermore, the powersets are themselves balanced around their performance exclusive to external benefits, so a set that has no damage recovery is going to have substantially more damage mitigation to make up for the lack thereof, further allowing any additional regeneration to add to contribute more.

The best I can imagine would be for an Invuln/* Tanker. Invuln/* has excellent mitigation, very little native damage recovery (a little bit from Dull Pain), and, most importantly, a boatload of hit points. Because regeneration is a function of max hp, any +regen you get is going to add more hp/sec to a toon with more hit points than another. Invuln/* is a win because it is almost exclusively focused on damage mitigation over damage recovery (making damage recovery more valuable on a comparative basis) and can max out hit point to further maximize hp/sec from what +regen it gets.

any tank will get a good amount out of the regen uniques due to having higher HP than other ATs. +regen is best used on toons that have lots of defense or resistance, because it compliments their default abilities.


I am an ebil markeeter and will steal your moneiz ...correction stole your moneiz. I support keeping the poor down because it is impossible to make moneiz in this game.

Yeah, something like a WP Tanker would probably get the most bang out of regen bonuses. Regen benefits from massive +recharge aiming to get DP and IH perma (is that possible? I haven't bothered playing a regenerator in ages...especially since WP is like Regen but better ) and get Recon up faster rather than just piling on a bit of piddly bonus regen.
