I sadly use dail up all i can get use i want to shell out 100+ dollars a month for wireless.

It is in the areas where the Phone company (ATT SUCKS) and the cable company are to darned cheap to run another 2 and 1/2 miles of digital lines.

I get this too but I never had a problem with it until the Issue where we got the new rikti stuff invasions and the new RWZ (forget the iusse number) after that patch it went all screwy for me and i cant team anymore..

(QR) to both questions. I used to work for Bellsouths DSL.. so i can answer this and not be making it up either!
it honestly depends on your speed plan, If you have a low end speed plan, you could be about 27k-30k feet.
High end plans, under a mile. Last i checked, if you have a 6Mb+ package, its best to be under 1000 feet from the DSLAM. so, usually, major apartment complexes and neighborhoods in the 'burbs can get good DSL.
I remember a few years ago (when i worked for Bellsouth) i lived within a 5 minute walk of the DSLAM, but the way they ran the plant, i was over 1500' away, i was caped at 3Mbs.
I think all dial up users have the lag then drop teaming problem. the higher in level you go
the more lag that is generated.. and just forget about teaming with masterminds. I finally
broke down and got wireless.. At least I can team now.. kinda...:/

I used to play CoH on dial up... back in 2005 
It was playable, until team size went above 4, then a giant lagfest.
Considering how much network lag there is now when i have 100Mbit broadband... man i don't wanna imagine how bad it is on a dial up today.
I know this is a late post but I just came back and noticed this.
Me and my wife and 2 kids all use dial up on 4 different lines.(nothing else available in our area)
