Winter Event Merits
Any wisdom from the market gurus out there on what effect the plentiful merits from the Lord Winter event will have on the market? While playing, I was saying to myself that I know that it will have some effect, I just can't figure out how I can profit from it...

Recipe production post merits is still lower on average than it was pre-merit and most of the recipes that are produced are at level 50 since merits can be hoarded and used at a level later than they were earned.
The extra merits in some cases, such as the avid badgers and casual players, may simply sit on the characters and not get spent since they aren't transferable.
There might be a slightly increased supply of recipes in the level 50 range for the duration of the event but I don't see it being a real market shaker.
-Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. - Albert Einstein.
-I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect has intended us to forgo their use. - Galileo Galilei
-When injustice becomes law, resistance becomes duty. - Thomas Jefferson
Direct merit purchases typically don't go through the market at all - so the effect will be minimal.
The dev team has wisely reduced the merit income from this year's event compared to last year's rampant WL farming. Considering you usually need two teams with some debuffage to kill Lord Winter and that fewer people will be doing the event as interest fades, I think it's safe to say there won't be any noticeable effect.
Someone said on Freedom, "10 merits for 5 minutes? Hell yeah."
I don't know how much interest will fade. Someone got several hundred merits last year at 2 per WL ( I bought his rolls. ) People like their goodies.

So you think you're a hero, huh.

Doesn't it take the present 4 minutes to countdown ?
Just saying, Lord winter has at the fastest been about 8-10 minutes,3 minutes for the winter lord, 4 minutes for the present to countdown, and then however long it takes to spawn the WL with presnet hunting.
Its still very desirable. I think I have bagged a little over a 1000 canes so far this event but its been a divide of listening for winterlord teams and power leveling new characters in BNY.
Their math is off, yes, but that won't stop them from doing a whole lot of Lording.
