When is the best time to slot for set bonuses?

Actually it DOES apply, where it appears to break the 'Rule of 5' is that it counts separately from 7.5 bonuses from slotting sets. you can have 5 7.5's from sets and 5 LotGs, but more than 5 LotGs will do you no good.

I realized that. I could have slotted one more LoTG for 7.5% recharge but for that slot I was able to get more regen from that slot which I think is more important for me in the long run. Plus that left we with two LoTG for the Fire/Shield scrapper I am making.

The hard things I can do--- The impossible just take a little bit longer.

If numbers are so much more important than a teammate who is fun to play with, forget about the game altogether and go play with a calculator instead. -Claws and Effect-

the suggestion I got from my personal tanker guru is that you basically shouldn't worry about set bonuses until level 50 and the bonuses of single sets are enough to get you to the necessary percentages with set bonuses being the only remaining advancement.

Until then, the advice I received is to look at your individual power percentages rather than set bonuses.

I build all of my characters with ~L32 or ~L37 enhancements in order to be able to exemplar down to 29 or 34, depending on the particular character, without losing any set bonuses.

I start slotting them with sets at L29+ (or L34+) and get the advantage of the set bonuses for the rest of their career and for exemplaring.

Works very well for me.
