Need new laptop advice

My son's 2-year old laptop died recently (grr!) and we are in the market for a new one. (I almost wrote "a new son", now wouldn't *that* be Freudian!)

I know the standard specs for a graphics card that will play CoH well, (second number 6 or above, etc.) but my son plays CoH only very occasionally, he spends most of this time with online games, You Tube, etc. Nothing too demanding, graphically.

So I'm willing to compromise on the graphics card a bit to keep the price under $600 or so. I would prefer a dedicated graphics card if possible, but something that will play CoH with the settings turned down a bit would be fine. (For reference, his old computer had a NVidia Go 7600 and a 1.8 Ghz dual core processor.)

Here are some laptops in my price range at NewEgg, let me know what you think:

ASUS: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834220636
MSI: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834152129

Thanks for your help!

They all look okay for $600 laptops.

HOWEVER, unlike desktop machines, I'd never recommend buying a laptop with no warranty outside of "ship it back to us at your expense and we'll get to it". Because that's exactly what "parts and labor" warranties are.

But, this is just me and my personal preferences. YMMV.

Well two of the three have inferior graphics to the GO 7600 which leaves the Asus laptop using the ATI Mobility HD 4570, which should be on par, maybe a bit better plus Dx10.1 support.

Many thanks to both of you! I did some quick research on the graphics cards after I posted, and it does look like the ASUS' card is substantially better than the other two. From what I can tell, the ASUS also has a better warranty--and it comes with Win 7 installed--so I think that's the one to go with.

Thanks again!
