Okay, first my question: Does Claws/Elec get better? I'm getting destroyed! Granted I'm level 18, but this is REALLY frustrating! Does this pay off in the end?



Second, what am I doing wrong in this build? I hear people saying they can get to 58% S/L with /elec, so what in the Nine Hells am I doing wrong here?

Thirdly, is this build actually any good? I'm basing this purely on theory right now. Can anyone with some actual experience let me know if this is viable or in fact any good? What changes could be made?

- ELA gets better as you level. Wait until you get energize slotted before you make any decisions.
- You need tough if you want that kind of S/L resistance.

The Build:

Just looking over the build, I'm not seeing a clear goal in mind with it. I'm seeing some recharge sets like decimation and crushing impact. I'm seeing AoE/Fire defense sets in your armors. I'm seeing a lot of Mako sets for range defense. It seems like you're trying to improve all your defenses. It's much more effective to focus on one - whether that's going positional and going for melee defense or typed and going for S/L.

Recharge is helpful for electric armor. The closer you can get energize's regen effect to be near perma, the better off you will be.

Elec does have a weakness to Fire/Cold, but those types of damage aren't too common in the game. It will be more useful to shore up your defense against more common types - especially Smashing/Lethal.

So, you have a few options. You could go for the HP route and 3 slot your armors with Titanium for the small HP bonus. You could also grab reactive armor for the S/L/E/Neg defenses and consider staking typed defense. You could also 6 slot titaniums in some of your armors for the 2.5% melee def bonus to help with what the obliterations are already helping.

As awesome as obliteration is, it's an end hog, and throwing that onto a toggle like Lightning Field is a death sentence for your endurance bar. Frankenslot that for damage and end reduction.

Maneuvers is not a good idea.

If you're going for defense then Grounded should have the Steadfast unique slotted. Combat Jumping adds some minimal defense, but would take care of your immob hole and you could slot LotGs and a Karma into it.

Otherwise some general stuff:

I usually put off damage auras until after Stamina. They usually have higher endurance costs and bring you extra hate that could result in face-planting.

I didn't take Swipe. Instead slotted 1 rech into Strike and Slash. Added Brawl in to build fury. You may want to keep it, but if you're looking to free up a power pick it's something you could get rid of. Eviscerate could go too depending on what you wanted your attack chain to look like.

I'd take Focus as soon as it becomes available. Its knockdown goes a long way in keeping you on your feet.

My Claws/Elec scrapper is really showing how sturdy Elec can be and that's with lower HP and resistance caps than brutes. I do have Tough in the build and it makes a very noticeable difference. After that I focused on melee defense taking that over 30%, the combination with solid resists has got me feeling more like my other melee toons.

Above that Focus makes a great mitigation tool, right now bosses might be painful but if they are falling down the damage they do is greatly reduced. Shockwave works well in the same way but the knockback might be more detrimental to Fury and not be as worthwhile as it is for scrappers.
